For the World War II action drama, the 32-year-old has been tapped to tackle the prominent role of German actress Bridget Von Hammersmark.
Revealing the fact at the 2008 Venice International Film Festival, she gushed, "I just received a call from Quentin Tarantino, asking me to be in his next movie. For Best Film 2006, the organization cast its choice on "Letters from Iwo Jima", the second half of Clint Eastwood's two-part look at World War II, placing it on the top spot of its Top Ten Film list which includes "Babel," "Blood Diamond," "The Departed", and "Little Miss Sunshine."

More Laying Hands on "Inkheart"
October 25, 2006 04:10:03Giving much more highlight to fantasy drama flick "Inkheart", Helen Mirren, Andy Serkis, Rafi Gavron, and Sienna Guillory have all come down to take part in the project, joining the likes of Brendan Fraser, Paul Bettany, and Jim Broadbent in turn.
Here Mirren will play a book collector named Elinor Loredan while Serkis is billed to portray a villainous character called Capricorn. Filming is scheduled to start next month in Italy then London with Iain Softley directing based on David Lindsay-Abaire's script.

The Rolf Schuebel direction is based on Marc Bruce Rosin's script. The story follows Sarandon's Eleanor, a patient at a psychiatric institute, who retains Colette (Bonham Carter), an attorney, to represent her complaint against the hospital, which has been prescribing her psychopharmacological drugs. During the lengthy process, the two women bond and form a special friendship.

December 07, 2005 10:12:22The animation action comedy "Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit" scored another attainment Monday, leading 15 nominations at the 33rd annual Annie Awards to be presented Feb. 4 next year. The awards, which is presented by the International Animated Film Society, recognize the year's best in animation from film, television, commercials and short subjects.
As of "Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit," it collected nominations for Directing, Writing, Storyboarding, Effects, Music, Character Design and Best Animated Feature. Also the film dominated the Voice-Acting category, with its four lead actors Helena Bonham Carter, Ralph Fiennes, Peter Sallis and Nicholas Smith, all earning nods. Other contenders for Best-Animated Feature include "Chicken Little," "Corpse Bride," "Howl's Moving Castle" and "Madagascar."
