Dino De Laurentiis to Expose More "Hannibal" Stories
February 01, 2007 10:02:33Looking on producer Dino De Laurentiis' optimism toward the potentiality of his upcoming producing work "Hannibal Rising" to create big buzz among moviegoers, it should be no great surprise to learn that there will be more "Hannibal" films coming to the big screen as the man has suggested.
"I presume that we created a success with this new franchise about young Hannibal Lecter, and I want to start to think about going ahead with the story," he told MTV.

Reader's Reviews

I don't have the slightest idea where these "critics" come from and what they were doing while this film was playing infront of them, I have no idea. My guess would be picking their noses; missing what was actually going on. I've read reviews that stated that it had nothing to do with the rest of the series. Isn't that the point? The movie is showing us how Hannibal came to be. His childhood, his history. If it was 100% linked with the other movies, it wouldn't have been as interesting. The fact that he is just a kid in this movie explains what the rest of the complaints are about. "No ming games.. etc etc." Well, how much of a genius can a writer make him at his age? Honestly, you can't expect him to be the same man, having the same intelligence as the Hannibal in the other movies. He's still growing, changing, learning... For pete's sake.. open your damn eyes when you watch a film and while you're at it, use your brain. All in all I thought it was interesting and informative. It answered all the questions I had about Hannibal and I enjoyed it.

I agree with Morgan... It has nothing to do with the other movies but its quite informative, just to know what was his life about...

I agree with MorganG, I don't understand critics. I enjoyed the movie, and I specially enjoyed young Hannibal and the actor who played him. One critic even complained about Hannibal not being sent to his room to think after /spoiler he killed the butcher /spoiler How's that wrong? Where's the movie if Lady Murasaki tells him "you bad hannibal, go to your room and never come out". Duh. Most of the critics just ramble on and on about how horrible it is. I clearly saw the old Hannibal Lecter in Hannibal Rising (like when he says "Yum" when he takes the Butcher's fish). The only thing I give the critics is that the movie didn't really explain how he came to eat the face of the rest of his victims, those that weren't part of the original revenge.
