A remake of the 1957 classic, the Lionsgate Films release amazingly surpassed studio's expectation by taking in quite an impressive number of $14.1 million on a historically slow weekend to replace the fright fest "Halloween" as the No.1 movie on the box office.

The beauty thus becomes the latest addition in the movie's cast lineup which has already included a long list of names like Daeg Faerch, Tyler Mane, William Forsythe, Danielle Harris, Daryl Sabara, and Brad Dourif to name few. Shooting is currently underway in Los Angeles with an eye for an August 31 release.

Director Rob Zombie has revealed via his MySpace blog that Adrienne Barbeau, Clint Howard, Courtney Gains, Daryl Sabara, and Brad Dourif have all been picked up for the project, making them the latest addition in the lineup after Danielle Harris.
While Zombie did not indicate what parts these stars will play, it is said that Dourif has already been plotted to portray Sheriff Haddonfield. In the meantime, there is still no word on who will play the lead character of Laurie Strode.

With this inclusion, the flick therefore will be the third time Harris gets involved in the series after her appearance as Jamie Lloyd Carruthers in both "Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers" and "Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers."

If everything runs smooth, Harris, according to the site, will likely to play "none other than heroine Laurie Strode herself -- or if not that character, played four times in the franchise by Jamie Lee Curtis, then certainly someone of prominence." The beauty previously appeared in both the fourth and fifth installments of the series as Jamie Lloyd, Michael Myers' niece.

November 02, 2005 10:11:03Steve Miner bravely facing "Day of the Dead." It's none other than the Millennium Films and Emmett/Furla Films remake of George Romero's 1985 zombie film. Miner has been set to direct the drama horror thriller, which script was written by Jeffrey Reddick.
"Day of the Dead" tells the story of a group of scientists and military personnel who have holed up in an underground bunker because the world above is overrun with zombies. The lumbering flesh-eaters eventually find a way in and wreak havoc on the scientists who've been experimenting on their undead brethren.
