Bill Murray Hasn't Seen 'Ghostbusters 3' Script
October 16, 2009 01:10:56Just days after report came in that director Ivan Reitman is attached to "Ghostbusters 3", Bill Murray revealed that there is yet a script. The 59-year-old shared that he has yet had his hands on the script when asked about how excited he is on the third installment during the premiere of "The Fantastic Mr. Fox".
"Well, I don't know," he told AbsoluteRadio. "I'll believe it when I see it. I saw a guy talking about the end of the world a couple of years ago, and I haven't seen that either. So I'm not going to be believe the Ghostbusters story until I see the script." And, on his involvement, he said, "Well, I don't want to do it yet. There's still no script, it's just a bunch of talk. It's just a wish list for someone. "

Ivan Reitman Attached to 'Ghostbusters 3'
October 09, 2009 04:10:11Ivan Reitman, the man behind the lens of the first two "Ghostbusters" films, will indeed be involved in the development of "Ghostbusters 3". Bringing up the story to the attention was Bloody-Disgusting (BD), which confirmed that the 62-year-old filmmaker is 100% attached to the project.
While the director of "My Super Ex-Girlfriend" is definitely on board to produce, BD noted that he is yet to make a decision over the potential directing job. "While he's attached, the word is that he hasn't decided whether or not he really wants to direct, yet," so wrote the site on the matter.

During the promotional effort for the upcoming release of "Year One" DVD, the 64-year-old actor/filmmaker talked with MovieWeb about his vision on his character and the aim of developing a third "Ghostbusters" movie.
Asked about the life of Egon in 2012, he responded, "I had two initial first instincts. One was that Egon had become a shaved head Buddhist monk. That is not going to happen." He then added, "The thing that I pitched for my character is that he's been living in Geneva, and he works for the Institute of Imaginary Science."

June 16, 2009 01:06:04Speculation about who will be the director of upcoming horror-comedy film "Ghostbusters 3" is swirling since there are two candidates to fulfill the position. The original director of "Ghostbusters", Ivan Reitman, and Harold Ramis, who is set to reprise his role as Egon Spengler on the film, are both counted for the director's role.
Talking to MTV's Josh Horowitz at "Year One" press junket over the weekend about the role of the movie's director, Ramis said, "[Reitman and I are] both in the same position. Unfortunately, it started with 'Animal House.' John Landis directed 'Animal House,' but both Ivan and I wanted to direct it." Then, he continued, "Ivan did 'Meatballs' right after I did Caddyshack.' Right after he did 'Stripes,' I did 'Vacation.' He did 'Ghostbusters.'"

In the pull out supplement of The Guardian's Saturday issue, the "Christmas with the Kranks" actor shared, "There'll be a whole new generation that has to be trained and a leader that you'll all love when you meet her." 'Ghostbusters 3': Possible Casting for Female Members

Los Angeles Times' Hero Complex pointed out the possibility in its new article containing an interview with Dan Aykroyd, one of the original stars of the "Ghostbusters" series, about the upcoming project.
In the report, it was mentioned that Aykroyd named two actresses whom he thinks suitable for the roles, Alyssa Milano, who happens to lend her voice for the forthcoming "Ghostbusters" video game, and Eliza Dushku. "I think they're amazing," he further commented. "And I'm excited about the whole idea of getting this done."

September 05, 2008 01:09:10"Ghostbusters 3" is most likely to be well on the way as Columbia Pictures have hired scribes for their newest comedy fantasy project. On Thursday, September 4, Variety reported that the production company have picked up "The Office" writers/co-executive producers, Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, to pen the script.
Reportedly, Eisenberg and Stupnitsky are expected to design the film to be a platform for the original cast, consisting of Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson, to be teaming up once again as the ghost exterminators. The pair have recently collaborated with Ramis for his directed comedy "Year One" by providing the script.
