The Little Chicken Repeats Box Office Success
November 14, 2005 02:11:47The little 'Chicken' isn't that weak at the box office. The animation genre tentatively titled "Chicken Little" surprisingly repeats its success in the box office, remaining on top with $32 million in its second weekend to beat back number of new movies. Debuting as the second best movie for this weekend is the sci-fi fantasy "Zathura: A Space Adventure," taking in $14 million.
The has just released thriller "Derailed" opens in third with $12.8 million, followed behind by the sensational and highly protested semi-autobiographical drama "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" at No. 4 with $12.5 million, and "Jarhead" at 5th taking in $12.3 million. "Saw 2" which scores another $9.4 million wins the 6th position, ahead of "The Legend of Zorro" at No. 7 with $6.6 million.

Fiddy's Movie Pulled After Shooting Incident
November 14, 2005 09:11:46What the community has been worried of finally happens. 50 Cent film titled "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" has been assumed to cause a shooting incident which killed one man. And as a result the drama genre is being pulled from the theater.
The incident happened Wednesday evening when shots were fired during an argument between four customers about to watch "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" screening at the Loews Cineplex at the Waterfront in West Homestead near Pittsburgh, Pensylvania. Shelton Flowers, 30, was shot three times after an argument broke out between three people. He later died at a local hospital.

Get Rich or Die Tryin' Posters Taken Down
October 29, 2005 11:10:56Though 50 Cent claims protest centers on his upcoming movie posters is helping promote the film "Get Rich or Die Tryin,'" still the movie company has their own policy. Concerning controversy over billboards for the film, which community leaders claim glorify violence, Paramount Pictures has taken down posters displayed near some grade schools on Thursday.
The posters were removed soon after Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael Antonovich sent a letter to Paramount, complaining that they promoted gun violence. Well, this maybe a good learning for both movie stars and studio that they next time would display a better and more educative project.

October 27, 2005 11:10:5450 Cent really is a controversial artist. The rapper creates sensation all the way he's walking his career. Not only in music industry, he also makes one in film. His upcoming movie "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" has sparked controversy among Los Angeles community leaders.
It isn't the content of the film, but the film ads, containing gun theme that stir protest. To your notice, billboards, posters and other ads for the movie depict the rapper brandishing two handguns as a promotion for the movie. Per Website AllHipHop.com reports the campaign has led to a call for a boycott from a number of organizations.

Some give a damn, several others busy with charity efforts, while many others give donation to the storm victims. Aside, the disaster has silenced Hollywood movie industry that seemingly there won't be new and more productions released.
Bursting the silence there are two new films offered for moviegoers, they are "Get Rich Or Die Tryin'" and "Bee Season." As for the first mentioned, it is Jim Sheridan's starring rapper 50 Cent, which tells the story of someone who was selling drugs at the age of 12, and was shot nine times when he tried to leave the street life to pursue a musical career.
