Universal Pictures Present Fall Movies Line-Up

German Trailer of Ron Howard's 'Frost/Nixon' Hits
August 21, 2008 03:08:01The international trailer of Ron Howard-directed drama film focused on the series of interview between British TV broadcaster David Frost and former U.S. President Richard Nixon, "Frost/Nixon", has been unearthed. The trailer which spoken language remains in English is subtitled in German.
Reuniting the two original stars of the Peter Morgan's play the movie is based on, Frank Langella and Michael Sheen, "Frost/Nixon" tells Nixon's story after he was kicked out of the the Oval Office due to the Watergate scandal. It will relive the battle of wits interview he had with Frost three years after he remained silent on the scandal.

Kevin Bacon Tied to "Frost/Nixon"
June 05, 2007 11:06:28Becoming a worthy addition to the project, "Mystic River" star Kevin Bacon has signed on to join the cast of "Frost/Nixon", the drama that Universal Pictures is setting up with Working Title Films.
Adapted from the hit play by Peter Morgan which is based on a series of televised interviews David Frost secured with former President Nixon in 1977, pic will find Bacon portraying Nixon's chief of staff Jack Brennan. Other cast members include Frank Langella, Michael Sheen, Sam Rockwell, Toby Jones, and Matthew Macfadyen, the former two reprising their stage roles as Nixon and Frost, respectively.

Reports coming to the surface have informed that two cast members from the original namely Frank Langella and Michael Sheen are currently involved in negotiations to reprise their stage role on the big screen version. Both Langella and Sheen received positive reviews from critics for their performance as former U.S. president Richard Nixon and TV presenter David Frost, respectively, during the premiere of the play at London's Donmar Warehouse theatre last year.

Universal Secures "Frost/Nixon" Deal
September 26, 2006 08:09:51Finally reaching its goal, Universal Pictures has successfully won a deal over the weekend for rights to make "Frost/Nixon", a film adaptation of Peter Morgan's play of the same title, Variety has reported.
In developing the project, the company has appointed renowned filmmaker Ron Howard to direct with Morgan himself adapting the screenplay. Looking on this, it is very likely that the movie version will stay true to the original which centers on the famed 1977 television interviews between David Frost and former president Richard Nixon.
