'The Flash' Update From Producer

On "" press conference held on Thursday, January 24, producer Charles Roven opens up about his upcoming superhero project "". According to LatinoReview.com, though Roven keeps much of the information regarding the action drama film a secret, he revealed the tone of the movie.

When asked whether the film would be made a sort of light comedy, Roven revealed that the movie would be an action one. He stated, "It's gonna be straight ahead and do a lot of honor to the source material. We're not going in a comedy direction. It's gonna be straight ahead action movie with a lot of character but it's not gonna necessarily be like or anything, it's going to be its own thing. At least, that's what we're gonna try to do."

Seems the directing reins on "" have again been given to someone else. MTV was recently told by "" helmer David Dobkin that he has taken over the duties from Shawn Levy, who quited the picture for undisclosed reasons.

More to say, the 38-year-old filmmaker also said his take on the fleet-footed superhero would exist in the same universe as "Justice League of America" as a direct spin-off. As for which version of the Flash would be the hero of the movie, the man firmly stated "Wally West", referring to the third Flash who dons his red suit following the death of the second one, Barry Allen, that was also his uncle.

Need not worry on the continuity of "", folks for Warner Bros. Pictures has quickly tapped someone else to replace writer/director David Goyer following the man's recent departure from the project after being involved in for about two years.

The lucky man turns out to be Shawn Levy, whose latest directorial work "" has successfully collected $225 million domestically so far. Said to aim for a lighter version in making the movie, Levy will oversee the writing of the new draft with a possibility to use Goyer's script in the development process.

Took the same decision as Joss Whedon did on "", David Goyer has announced on his Blog that he no longer seats as both writer and director in "", which, like "Woman" is also set up at Warner Bros. Pictures.

"I am sad to say that my version of The Flash is dead at WB," so he stated. "The God's honest truth is that WB and myself simply couldn't agree on what would make for a cool Flash film."
