October 21, 2009 04:10:46Not much has been unraveled on the development of "The First Avenger: Captain America", but Marvel Comics editor-in-chief Joe Quesada has recently brought a much needed update on the superhero project. During the Q&A session at Big Apple Comic-Con, the 47-year-old uncovered that he has read the initial script.
"I've seen a couple of outlines and an initial screenplay, and it's going to rock everyone's socks off," Quesada shared what he has in mind about the script, as quoted by Comic Book Resources. "It's very unexpected, the kind of movie it is." The comic book editor further insisted that "Captain America" sets up "The Avengers" in "a fantastic way".

'The First Avenger: Captain America' to Recruit 'The Chronicles of Narnia' Writers
November 19, 2008 01:11:17With director Joe Johnston aboard the project, "The First Avenger: Captain America" moves on with its search for writers. Latest report on the matter reveals that Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the co-scribes of "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" and its sequel, are in talks with Marvel to pen the script of the superhero movie.
"Captain America" itself is the heroic alter ego of Steve Rogers. Being rejected by the Army for being a sickly young man, Rogers enlists himself in an experiment project to aid the United States war effort. With the help of an experimental serum, he was enhanced to the peak of human perfection and equipped with an indestructible shield, he now fights Nazis and villainous scientists like the Red Skull.

Possible Plot of 'The First Avenger: Captain America' Shared
October 06, 2008 10:10:58An alleged full-plot synopsis of "The First Avenger: Captain America" has been published in the latest issue of Production Weekly. Uncovered via Cinema Blend, the storyline exposes some interesting tidbits on the introduction of the superhero character before and during the second World War until he becomes the Avengers' leader.
The synopsis read, "Born during the Great Depression, Steve Rogers grew up a frail youth in a poor family. Horrified by the newsreel footage of the Nazis in Europe, Rogers was inspired to enlist in the army. However, because of his frailty and sickness, he was rejected. Overhearing the boy's earnest plea, General Chester Phillips offered Rogers the opportunity to take part in a special experiment...Operation: Rebirth."

Will Smith, From 'Hancock' to 'The First Avenger: Captain America'
September 09, 2008 10:09:13Rumor has it that Will Smith will move on from his role as a slacker man with superhero powers in "Hancock" to be a real American hero in "The First Avenger: Captain America". During an interview with MTV News for "Miracle at St. Anna", actor Derek Luke surprisingly mentioned the possibility saying, "I heard they offered Will Smith 'Captain America'."
If the story is proven to be true, it means that Marvel Studios are going to once again change up the race of their established characters, like when they put Samuel L. Jackson in the shoes of S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury in "Iron Man". Being positive on that subject, Luke said on possible casting of Smith, "Just shows you how times have changed."

Marvel Considers Leonardo DiCaprio for 'Captain America' Role
June 13, 2008 10:06:31In early May 2008, online publications went frantic when a news about Captain America casting broke out. At the time, it was reported that Hollywood hunk Matthew McConaughey was on top of Marvel Entertainment's list for portraying the titular character in "The First Avenger: Captain America". However, as quick as the news came out, it soon got slammed leaving a big gap for speculations of who to be entrusted the role.
About a month after, a new report brings out more exciting news regarding the possible casting of the patriotic superhero. It is now said that noted Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio has been considered by Marvel for the role of Steve Rogers whose alter ego is Captain America. But, before the fans of the "Blood Diamond" star leaping for joy over the matter, Latino Review, which sparked the rumor in the first place, insisted that up to this point the 33-year-old actor's name is merely put on the top of the list, but the official offer for the role to the multiple Academy Award-nominated performer has yet to be put forward.

'Captain America' Becoming Period Film
May 22, 2008 10:05:17Staying true to their comic book stories' original piece apparently is the one thing that may set Marvel Entertainment apart when adapting the superhero stories into the silver screen. On Wednesday, May 21, Kevin Feige, the Marvel Studios President of Production, explained that "The First Avenger: Captain America" will be set during World War II.
Feige unveiled that in bringing Captain America to the big screen, the studio plan to stick on the conventional and original story of the patriotic superhero. It is further believed that the decision on making the film a period piece is taken to do the story justice. So, it is save to say that this tidbit is going to focus on the background story of Captain America meaning the plot will involve Steve Rogers volunteering to be a test subject that eventually makes him a superhero.

None of these guys are right, they would be mistakes, including the latest rumor of John Barrowman... but I think Paul Walker could. He looks like a young all-American guy, whose grounded, but could kick butt... he's got the build, and he's known (Fast/Furious, etc) but not a superstar (which would be a negative)... the ladies would dig him too.

Oh go shove it, if they cast anyone other than Jesen Ackles, it's a mistake. He's a wonderful actor. John Barrowman's very nice and all, not to diss him, but he's not really all-American, or as hot as Ackles.
