"Factory Girl" to Face Legal Threat from Bob Dylan
December 15, 2006 02:12:46Though already been slated to hit theaters late this month on date 29, there is a possibility for "Factory Girl" to not appear on that day as famed musician Bob Dylan is preparing to take legal action against the movie which can prevent it to come up on date scheduled.
What triggers Dylan to plan so apparently is because he considers that the flick, a biopic of mid-sixties 'it girl' Edie Sedgwick, falsely implies he is responsible for the socialite's death as people can easily relate Hayden Christensen's character Billy Quinn to him despite the film's producers' claim insisting Quinn of actually being a composite of Dylan, Mick Jagger, and Jim Morrison.

The Weinsteins Co. Finally Gets the 'Factory Girl'
January 24, 2006 02:01:27Agnes Mentre, head of acquisitions for The Weinstein Company, has on Monday Jan 23rd at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah announced that the company has acquired the rights to "Factory Girl" from L.I.F.T. Productions. Hence, all rights in North America, UK, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa are in the hand of Weinstein.
"Factory Girl" is the Edie Sedgwick biopic which is directed by George Hickenlooper. It among other stars Sienna Miller, Hayden Christensen, Guy Pearce, Mena Suvari and Jimmy Fallon. The movie, which is categorized as drama genre, reportedly is in production in Shreveport, Louisiana. Will serve as producers are Holly Wiersma and Aaron Richard, while J. Malcolm Petal, Kimberly C. Anderson, Morris Bart, and Simon Monjack will serve as executive producers.

It was a great sixties movie. A lot like Almost Famous. The movie as a whole was quite entertaining, but the performances were a little disapointing, in my opinion.
