Weekend North American Box Office of July 20-22, 2007
July 23, 2007 10:07:28It's obvious now that moviegoers are rather inclined to have laughs in spending their weekend in theaters this time as "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry" surprisingly goes straight to the top place of weekend domestic box office ended July 22 despite bad reviews.
Raking in a hefty $34.2 million, the Universal comedy thereby successfully knocks "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" down to number two, but, on the other hand, only makes a narrow gap between them for the fifth installment of the teen wizard adventures turns out to score slightly below at $32.5 million.

Weekend North American Box Office of July 13-15, 2007
July 16, 2007 11:07:35Looks like people coming to theaters have been deeply under spell over the weekend with the arrival of the fifth installment of the mega-hit fantasy franchise, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix."
Already raked in nearly $65 million throughout its Wednesday (July 11) and Thursday (July 12) screenings, the teen wizard tale effortlessly pulls fantastic sum of $77.1 million from 4,285 cinemas, including those of IMAX, to thereby collect a total domestic gross of $139.7 million so far and take over the top spot of the box office running July 13-15, 2007 from sci-fi actioner "Transformers."

Weekend North American Box Office of June 28 - July 1, 2007
July 02, 2007 01:07:35Taking last week baton as the first runner of domestic box office weekend is "Ratatouille". Racking in $47,227,000, the Pixar production places itself high above predicted runner this week, "Live Free or Die Hard". While the action movie has stolen an early start, it fails to beat the "mouse" and can only be satisfied getting the runner up post. The fourth installment of Die Hard closes down to $33,150,000.
Despite the #1 slot, "Ratatouille" is still a far reach to Pixar's highest grossing flick. For Bruce Willis meanwhile, it maybe is a personal satisfaction after all with his charm as John McClane still 'kicking'. Former champion "Evan Almighty" drops two places to #3 with total earning less than half of last week at $15,089,000. It is only a one third run for the Steve Carell comedy to fill in the budget of $175 mill.

"Evan Almighty," a follow-up to Jim Carrey's "Bruce Almighty," has signed Carell to star in, for which the actor reportedly to earn 10 times more than the $500,000 he made for "The 40-Year-Old Virgin." Reader's Reviews

I thought the story was amazing and very well thought out. I think if you were looking for something exactly like Bruce almighty you would have been dissapointed , but if you went in with an open mind to the lessons it offered and the off the wall comedy you would definitely be impressed. I have watched it four times and it gets better and better with each viewing.
