Producer Cast April Scott As A Young Daisy Duke

Question on who is going to play Daisy Duke in the upcoming prequel to "The Dukes of Hazzard" finally is answered. It's not going to be Kristin Cavallari like the film's producer had previously said, instead the choice has gone to April Scott.

"We decided to go with a Southerner and someone more reminiscent of Catherine Bach," producer Bill Gerber tells PEOPLE explaining on the final casting.

Upon the success of "The Dukes of Hazzard," producers of the hit summer blockbuster plan to set its sequel in London. Hollywood actress Jessica Simpson is set to reprise her role as Daisy Duke.

Simpson herself claims she just can't wait to work on the sequel, telling website SkyNews.com, "They would be lost in London. I think Daisy and those crazy boys will have a great time in the UK."

'The Dukes' Establishes a Colony in Box Office

The newly premiered film of Jessica Simpson, "The Dukes of Hazzard" has just established its colony in this weekend box office, rounding up $30.6 million in its first three days of release. The Dukes winning drags last weekend champ "The Wedding Crashers" to 2nd place with $16.5 million. Meanwhile, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" drops to third with $10.6 million.

The later film, secures 4th rank at this weekend box office is "Sky High" with $9.0 million, followed by "Must Love Dogs" at 5 with $7.4 million. Rounding out the Top 10 in sequence are "March of the Penguins," $6.9 million; "Stealth," $5.8 million; "Fantastic Four," $4.1 million; "War of the Worlds," $3.6 million; and "The Island," $3.1 million.
