2008 SDCC's Clip of 'Drag Me to Hell' Comes Out
July 29, 2008 02:07:47During the presentation of Sam Raimi's latest horror thriller "Drag Me to Hell" at the 2008 San Diego Comic Con, an extended clip has been previewed. Nearly four minutes long, the video footage gives out the first real look into the Universal Pictures' horror flick which can be described as horrifying and at the same time tickling.
Focused on the main character Christine Brown played by Alison Lohman, the clip displays Brown being attacked presumably by the old woman whose loan extension she denied earlier. Began with a creepy scene where Brown walks to her parked car, the video hypes up the terrifying atmosphere with a sudden appearance of the old woman in the back seat of Brown's car. Then, the clip continues by exposing the fight between Brown and the old woman.

'Drag Me to Hell' to Be Released in Summer 2009
July 04, 2008 01:07:10Horror thriller "Drag Me to Hell" will mark the return of "Spider-Man" series director, Sam Raimi, to his movie genre roots and for quite some time, this project doesn't have exact date for its theatrical release. But, Universal Pictures have brought a great news with the announcement of the movie release date.
On Thursday, July 3, the studio let out that they have set "Drag" to be outed next summer on May 29, 2009 in theaters across the country. Occupying the last weekend in the month of May, the PG-13 horror movie has been given the same time frame as Bryan Bertino's successful suspense thriller "The Strangers" which shows Universal's confidence in it.

Sam Raimi's 'Hell' Gets Three More Theps
March 27, 2008 02:03:05Following the footsteps of Alison Lohman in nailing a part in "Drag Me to Hell", three more theps have joined the cast of the upcoming horror thriller project. According to Hollywood Reporter, Jessica Lucas, Lorna Raver and David Paymer have all been tapped to star in the supernatural tale's flick.
The "Cloverfield" actress Lucas has been signed to play the roommate and best friend of the lead character, while Raver, the depicter of Rebecca Kaplan in television series "The Young and the Restless", has been set to portray Mrs. Ganush, the old-school Eastern European woman who set the curse. Further, the co-star of George Clooney and Brad Pitt in "Ocean's Thirteen" Paymer will be playing Mr. Jacks, the lead character's boss.

'White Oleander' Star Replacing Ellen Page in 'Hell'
March 04, 2008 02:03:37As Ellen Page dropped out from "Drag Me to Hell", it was reported that "White Oleander" topliner Alison Lohman is set to step into the part left by the "Juno" star. Variety reported that the 28-year-old actress will take over the lead character in the Universal Pictures' horror project.
In the film, Lohman will be acting under the direction of "Spider-Man 3" helmer Sam Raimi. Additionally, she is scheduled to join the production which has been pushed back to March 31. Originally, the shooting of the film penned by Raimi and his brother Ivan should begin on March 17.

March 01, 2008 11:03:27An upsetting news came from the upcoming horror thriller film "Drag Me to Hell". According to latest reports, the young star of "Juno" Ellen Page has dropped out from the Sam Raimi's newest feature film project.
Bloody-Disgusting reported that the 21-year-old actress has quit the project because she "didn't like the latest draft of the script". However, MoviesOnline claimed that according to a joint statement from Ghost House Pictures and Mandate Pictures, the Canadian actress is no longer available for the project due to scheduling conflicts. The statement read, "We were racing to start production so that we could accommodate Ellen's schedule. But like so many other productions trying to start before the potential SAG strike date, this one needed more time and we had to push back the start of production."

A morality tale about the unwitting recipient of a supernatural curse, the project has already had its script written by Raimi and his brother Ivan Raimi. The prominent filmmaker will also serve as producer alongside Robert Tapert and Grant Curtis with production to begin early next year.
