Unveil Hidden Features on Dark Is Rising Site

Apart from the clip, the site also provides the story of the movie while allowing the visitors to register for updates by submitting their birth-dates. As for the trailer itself, it gives the viewers glimpses of the lead character Will Stanton's adolescent innocence and the moment he discovers his powers as an Old One.

Stars Glow in the "Dark"
February 15, 2007 05:02:09Listing up more names in its cast, "The Dark Is Rising" has satisfyingly added a number of actors into the lineup following the inclusion of Ian McShane, Alexander Ludwig, and Frances Conroy. Those submitted include Gregory Smith of "Everwood" fame, "Heroes" star Christopher Eccleston, Amelia Warner, Emma Lockhart, Gary Entin, Edmund Entin, Jonathan Jackson, and John Benjamin Hickey, who was recently seen in "Flags of Our Fathers."
All will come under the direction of David Cunningham who will helm from script written by John Hodge. Smith will play the older brother of Ludwig's character, an edgy young man with piercings and tattoos who questions their father's authority, while Eccleston is set to portray the movie's villain, the Rider.

The first film adaptation of Susan Cooper's acclaimed "The Dark Is Rising Sequence", the picture focuses on an ordinary boy named Will Stanton, the last member of a group of immortal warriors fighting the forces of the Dark named the "Old Ones". Through a series of mysterious clues, he later discovers that the Dark once again rises and it's all up to him to save the future of the world.

Adapted from the second of Susan Cooper's five-book series of the same title, "The Dark Is Rising" concerns a youth who realizes that he is charged with saving the world after finding out his true identity of being a Sign Seeker, last of a group of immortals dedicated to fight a growing presence of dark forces, at age 11.
