The Gardener Leads the 2006 BAFTA Nominations
January 20, 2006 01:01:09After the Golden Globe Awards, people are now treated with The Orange British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) which is about to come on February 19 this year. The Academy has on Thursday Jan 19 announced the nominees of this year's awards. And so drama thriller "The Constant Gardener" is the leading nominee with 10 pieces all at once.
The many nominations it grabbed are Best Film, Best British Film, Best Actor for Ralph Fiennes, Best Actress for Rachel Weisz, The David Lean Award for Achievement in Direction, Adapted Screenplay, The Anthony Asquith Award for Achievement in Film Music, Cinematography, Editing, and Sound. Drama romance "Brokeback Mountain" somewhat earns 9 nominations, including that of Best Film, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Supporting Actress.

The 26th London Film Critics' Circle Nominees
December 22, 2005 01:12:14On February 9 next year, people will keep their attention sticking on the 26th annual London Film Critics' Circle awards. Organizers have on Wednesday announced the awards nominees that include some famous films, like "The Constant Gardener" which is a big nominee with seven nominations.
The drama thriller is nominated among others for the categories of Best Director for Fernando Meirelles, Best Producer for Simon Channing Williams and Film of the Year. Challenging Meirelles to win the Best Director award are Ang Lee for "Brokeback Mountain," Paul Haggis for "Crash," Peter Jackson for "King Kong," and David Cronenberg for "A History of Violence."

"Constant Gardener" Tops Brit Film Awards
December 02, 2005 04:12:33Drama thriller "The Constant Gardener" was the big winner at last night's British Independent Film Awards (BIFA), winning three categories all at once, including that of Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Film. Brought home the honor for Best Actor and Actress were Ralph Fiennes and Rachel Weisz.
Best Supporting Actor/Actress went to Rosamund Pike of "The Libertine." Meanwhile, Emily Barclay of "In My Father's Den" won the Most Promising Newcomer category. Young star Keira Knightley collected the Variety UK Personality of the Year for her performances in "Pride and Prejudice," "The Jacket" and "Domino," while "Broken Flowers" actress Tilda Swinton was the recipient of the Richard Harris Award for Outstanding Achievement.
