'City of Ember' Celebrates Its Premiere in New York
October 08, 2008 02:10:03In anticipation of "City of Ember" theatrical release this coming Friday on October 10, Fox-Walden Media have presented moviegoers with the premiere of their latest adventure fantasy film. Held at AMC Loews 19th Street Theatre, New York City, on Tuesday, October 7, the special screening event was a star-studded extravaganza.
Rolling out the red carpet outside the theater, the evening event saw many of "Ember" cast ensemble, such as Harry Treadaway, Saorise Ronan, Bill Murray, Tim Robbins and Martin Landau. While Robbins who stars as Loris Harrow attended the premiere accompanied by his partner Susan Sarandon, Murray who portrays Ember's Mayor Cole, walked down the red carpet with yellow miner's helmet on his head and on his hand.

'City of Ember' Teaser Trailer Arrives
May 16, 2008 09:05:52Introducing their latest adventure fantasy film, Fox-Walden have released the official first teaser trailer of "City of Ember" through their official trailer. Though footages compiled in a one and a half minutes video do not give much of the storyline, it still helps to give an idea of how the movie will look like.
This teaser is said to be the same trailer as the one lets out in the theaters attached to "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian". It picks up its plot momentum using the appearing white words explaining what is happening and what should be done by the two leading kids in order to save the people of Ember. The teaser can be seen below using "Ember" official site's widget, which also includes a countdown clock, a widget map, a news section, and a tab called "Underground" featuring noticeable underground places all over the world. Four Touring Around "City of Ember"

Variety has reported that Tim Robbins, Martin Landau, Marianne Jean-Baptiste and newcomer Harry Treadaway have all agreed to take part in the fantasy adventure, joining the already-announced Bill Murray, Toby Jones, and Saoirse Ronan.

Bill Murray Lives in "City of Ember"
June 11, 2007 04:06:40Jumping in front of the camera again after his last stint of voicing the titular character in "Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties", Bill Murray has signed on to topline "City of Ember", one of the early titles to come out from Fox-Walden, Variety has learned.
Also picking up Toby Jones and Saoirse Ronan in the cast lineup, pic is based on the Jeanne DuPrau young adult novel which tells about an insular, dark place where the only light comes from street lamps. When the power source begins to fail, two teenagers embark on a search for clues that will unlock ancient mysteries about the city.

posted by mgfhh on Oct 18, 2008I have to give this movie 5 stars. There were only two scenes where I though the camera was too close. The plot is beautiful and the acting is great too. It was fun. Without getting to see the whole planet get destroyed, we get it and how bad the destruction was.

Book was SO MUCH BETTER! Movie was okay, but I'll probably never rent or buy it.
