Films Considered for the Makeup Oscar
January 11, 2006 02:01:55There are 7 films considered for Achievement in Makeup for the 78th Academy Awards. As announced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the films include "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe", "Cinderella Man", "A History of Violence", "The Libertine", "Mrs. Henderson Presents", "The New World", and "Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith."
Thus, to pick up only three of those for Oscar consideration, ten-minute clip reels from each of the seven films will be screened for the Makeup Award Nominating Committee on Saturday, January 28. The selected films will be announced along with nominations in 23 other categories on Tuesday, January 31, at 5:30 a.m. PST.

The 11th Annual Critics' Choice Awards Winners
January 11, 2006 08:01:47The gay cowboy romance flick "Brokeback Mountain" is a big winner at the 11th annual Critics' Choice Awards held Monday Jan 9. Gaining eight nominations, the movie gloriously brings home 3 awards, including the all-important Best Picture prize, which is considered a key Oscar prognosticator. Moreover, the film's creator, Ang Lee, also is voted the year's Best Director.
Meanwhile, the film's cast Michelle Williams is handed Best Supporting Actress award which she shares with Amy Adams of "Junebug." Paul Giamatti is the Best Supporting Actor thanks to his portrayal in "Cinderella Man." Best Actor award goes to Philip Seymour Hoffman of "Capote," while Best Actress prize goes to Reese Witherspoon of "Walk the Line." December 12, 2005 10:12:55Comes early during nowadays film awards season is the 11th Critics Choice Awards held Sunday December 11th with its awards to be given to winners at a ceremony in Los Angeles on January 17 next year. Chosen as big winner is the gay love story "Brokeback Mountain" which earns eight nominations including Best Film, Best Director for Ang Lee and Best Actor for Heath Ledger.
Meanwhile, drama mystery "Crash" earns nominations in six categories which include Best Film, Best Director for Paul Haggis and Best Acting Ensemble. "Cinderella Man" Dazzling Premiere
May 26, 2005 11:05:32Once again Ron Howard outs his movie direction, which this time is adapted from screenplay by Cliff Hollingsworth and Oscar-winner Akiva Goldsman. And again, for the many times, Howard produces such movie that, indeed, high qualified and has been highly talked by many as being an awards contender.
Just now the director works with his Imagine Entertainment partners Brian Grazer and Penny Marshall, with whom he produces "Cinderella Man," which is believed as one of this year's five best picture slots. As for the cast, there is strong perfomances from actor Russell Crowe who portrays Depression-era heavyweight boxing champion James J. Braddock and Renee Zellweger as his wife. In addition to the exsited casts, there is also Paul Giamatti to play as Crowe's manager.
