The Top 5 Movies in UK Box Office
March 15, 2006 01:03:16While comedy romance "Failure to Launch" tops the US box office, the UK box office is dominated by "The Hills Have Eyes", the remake of Wes Craven's 1997 horror classic. Debuted as the weekend's favorite, the drama thriller movie takes in 1.1 million pounds in ticket sales.
Last week's champ "Date Movie", in the meantime, slips one place to No. 2, just one place ahead of drama thriller "Syriana" which also falls one to No. 3. This week's 4th best movie is Disney animation "Chicken Little", whereas "Walk the Line" secures the 5th place.

With such attainment, the film based on the popular children's books by C.S. Lewis has become the second-biggest debut ever in a weekend in December.
Winning the 2nd position is "Syriana," an oil-and-politics thriller, scoring $12 million. No. 3 is "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" with $10.3 million, one place ahead of "Walk the Line" at 4th with $77 million, surpassing "Yours, Mine and Ours" at 5th with $5.2 million.
