Animated Flicks Racing for Slots at Oscar
November 06, 2006 03:11:15Building up the hype surrounding the anticipation of next year's Academy Awards, sixteen full-length animated pictures have been passed the qualification to compete for being five Best Animated Feature nominees, which will be announced by the officials on January 23, 2007.
Walt Disney Pictures, DreamWorks Animation, and 20th Century Fox each managed to make two entries for the competition: Disney with "Cars" and "The Wild", DreamWorks with "Flushed Away" and "Over the Hedge", while Fox with "Ice Age: The Meltdown" and "Everyone's Hero."

"Cars" Bested "Pirates" in Overseas Run
September 11, 2006 04:09:46Pirates' rule overseas has come to its end. After holding the top spot of foreign box-office for nine consecutive weeks, "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" finally has to hand over the position to "Cars" after only managed to gain $7.7 million from 47 territories, way behind the animated flick which succeeded in scoring $9 million from 34 territories during its weekend run ended Sunday, September 10.
Slated to open in Greece and Turkey on Friday, September 14, "Cars" so far has collected total sum of $183.3 million worldwide while "Dead Man's Chest" has just proclaimed itself to be the Hollywood's newest billion-dollar baby, the third movie to reach such title after "Titanic" and "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of The King."
Seating on the third place for the weekend is "Miami Vice" which delightfully could add another $6.1 million it collected from 44 markets to its pocket followed by "Monster House" with an estimated $3.8 million from 43 territories. Columbia's "Click" and 20th Fox Century's "The Sentinel" come up together next to share the fifth rank after both earning $3.2 million.

June 19, 2006 10:06:10The Walt Disney animation, comedy flick "Cars" remains still at the very top position in the North America box office, remaining the 1st for a second weekend with $31.2 million. Meanwhile, Paramount's "Nacho Libre" debuts in 2nd place with $27.5 million, ahead of "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift," which opens at No. 3 with $24.1 million.
The chart's next best bow is the Warner Bros. romantic drama "The Lake House," which taking in $13.7 only to secure the 4th place, just one place ahead of "The Break-Up" at No. 5 with $9.5 million in ticket sales. The weekend's other new wide release, 20th Century Fox's "Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties" taking in $21.7 million opens at No. 6.

June 12, 2006 01:06:35It really is a very short period for drama comedy "The Break-Up" to top the North America box office for just one week, before in June 9-11 period slips one place to No. 2 after "Cars", the latest animated feature from newly merged Walt Disney Co. and Pixar Animation Studios, seizes the No. 1 position with an estimated ticket sales of $62.8 million.
Now becoming the 2nd, "The Break-Up" garnering $20.5 million in ticket sales, ahead of "X-Men: The Last Stand" which is at No. 3 with $15.5 million and "The Omen" at No. 4 with $15.4 million. Finishing in 5th place is "Over the Hedge" with an estimated $10.301 million, while "The Da Vinci Code" is at No. 6 garnering another $10.3 million.

OMG!!! i love this movie to death it is one of the best movies i have ever seen i cant wait for it to come out on dvd!! i love it so much it is so funny... tractor tipping haha... you did an awesome job! it was great!
