First Five Minutes of 'Blindness' Hits

Before moviegoers head to theaters on the first weekend in October, Miramax Films have presented thriller movie lovers with the first five minutes video of their upcoming "". Opened with a scene covering a busy traffic on one ordinary morning, it then closes up to one particular car stopping in red light. When the light turns green, the man driving the car hits the brake causing chaos on the street.

When the shot comes closer to the man, it is revealed that he is experiencing a sudden blindness. Several people watching the odd circumstances from the sidewalk then comes to his aid. Still dazed and confused by his mysterious condition, the blind man explains what it feels like to be blind to another man who volunteers to drive him home.

Set to have its theatrical release on September 19, the psychological thriller "" will be having a special early screening as it has been chosen to be the opener of the 61st annual Cannes Film Festival. The choosing of the and -starrer film as the opening movie was let out by the festival organizers on Tuesday, April 29.

Directed by "" helmer Fernando Meirelles, the novel adaptation from Nobel laureate Jose Saramago is set to kick off the festival on Wednesday, May 14. Variety noted that the movie about an epidemic attacking a city and leaving its inhabitants to lose their visions without explanation is also included in the competition line-up for Palme d'Or alongside two other new additions, and -starrer "" and Laurent Cantet's "Entre les murs" ("Between the Walls").

Official Site Launched, Julianne Moore's 'Blindness' Teaser Arrives!

As Miramax Films launched the official site of its latest drama thriller "", the brand new teaser trailer of the film starring has come out in the interwebs. The creepy video footage lasts up to one and a half minutes.

Started with the sound of a beeping digital alarm clock, the teaser continues with the shot of Moore and 's characters in their shared bed. The footage then follows the couple as they are preparing their day. But, their day soon turns to the worse as Ruffalo's character finds out that he is losing his sight. As the story is progressing, it can be seen that the blindness has become an unexplained epidemic and the once-populated city becomes a ghost town.

Back in March, reports were circulating around that is seriously engaged in talks to topline philosophical thriller "" alongside . However, it now turns out that the actor has pulled out all the plugs attached to the project, set to be helmed by Brazilian filmmaker Fernando Meirelles.

Bringing up the sad news is The Hollywood Reporter, which briefly confirmed that Craig has dropped negotiations on him to appear in the flick. Reason behind his departure is unclear, but it is speculated that his hectic filming schedule is the one responsible for the decision.

Nabbing a new directorial work, Brazilian filmmaker Fernando Meirelles is set to make a philosophical thriller flick entitled "" based on Portuguese Nobel Prize winner Jose Saramago's 1995 novel of the same title.

An English-language film of a Brazilian/Canadian co-production, the project will go into production next summer in Meirelles' hometown, Sao Paolo, and Toronto, Canada with an estimated budget around $25 million project. Meanwhile, script is penned by Don McKellar who will also have a supporting role in the movie.

hey guyz this is one of da best movie i have seen lots of gr8 music(slow ;). I think it realizes us about the human value, about da unity and ofcourse the free benefits dat v got from nature i.e eyes..... its realy an excelent movie...watch it upp.....
