Eddie Murphy Nixed Ditching 'Beverly Hills Cop IV' Rumor
July 02, 2008 10:07:19Recently, renowned comedian Eddie Murphy has generated a pretty good stir with his remarks to Extra TV suggesting that he won't be involved in the upcoming "Beverly Hills Cop IV" and that he will be retiring soon. But, as soon as that report came out to the media, the 47-year-old offered otherwise.
Providing an opposing statement to his previous remark, the star of the upcoming comedy "Meet Dave" noted to MTV that he wants to do a better "BHC" movie than the third film. "I've been in a bunch of different meetings with people, 'Oh, we have to take Axel this way.'. I ain't seen no script yet [but] I'm not rolling out 'Beverly Hills Cop 4' for it to be a continuation of 'Beverly Hills Cop III,' which was a crock of sh-t," explained the co-star of Beyonce Knowles in "Dreamgirls". "I wanna do a good one!"

Planning on Retiring, Eddie Murphy Slammed Down 'Beverly Hills Cop IV'
July 01, 2008 12:07:25Earlier, media was made frenzy with Paramount Pictures' inclination of developing the fourth "Beverly Hills Cop" series. But, less than two months after any reports concerning "Beverly Hills Cop IV" hit, a demeaning news came in stating that its star, Eddie Murphy, won't take any part in the latest installment of the action comedy.
Sharing his future plan with Extra TV, the famed comedian reasoned his goodbye bid to the movie series that played a part in boosting his career in Hollywood was made due to the condition of the movie which he claimed as unready to be done. He further confessed that he had agreed to come back for the third "BHC" only because at the time he was offered a large sum of money gushing, "They said this is how much we're going to pay you. I said, 'let's go shoot it! I don't care if the script ain't right'."

'Beverly Hills Cop 4' to Be Aimed for Children
June 04, 2008 04:06:06Back in early May, an upsetting report came from "Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins". At the time, it was reported that the action movie about the killing machines is planned to be getting a PG-13 rating. Less than a month following that news, another great '80s action film, "Beverly Hills Cop IV", is reported to be also aiming for the PG-rating.
Talking about reviving the R-rated movie to the big screen, appointed director Brett Ratner hinted that the fourth installment of the tidbit made famous by Eddie Murphy is inclining to be kid-friendly and it may be targeting even younger audience than "Terminator Salvation" or even "Live Free or Die Hard". To MTV, the "X-Men: The Last Stand" helmer revealed, "10-year-old kids, 12-year-old kids don't really know the old 'Beverly Hills Cop.' So it's an opportunity to make it new for kids. The same way it felt for me watching 'Beverly Hills Cop' when I was a kid, that's what I want to do for kids today."

'Beverly Hills Cop' Gets Fourth Film, Brett Ratner to Direct
May 29, 2008 04:05:43The arguable success of "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" in collecting gold at the box office can be said to be inspiring filmmakers on bringing other memorable '80s films to the big screen. Following the release of Indy movies' fourth installment, Paramount Pictures are said to be on track on resurrecting the award-winning "Beverly Hills Cop" series to the big screen through its fourth film.
Like Indiana Jones who brings back its original actor Harrison Ford to reprise his iconic character, "Beverly Hills Cop IV" has Eddie Murphy attached to portray Detroit cop Axel Foley once more. Still, unlike Indy which maintained to have director Steven Spielberg for all of the four movie series, BHC will be having yet another helmer. It is reported that "X-Men: The Last Stand" filmmaker Brett Ratner may follow the footsteps of directors Martin Brest, Tony Scott and John Landis as he is negotiating to helm the latest BHC film.
