'Beverly Hills Chihuahua' Took 2009 Imagen Awards' Top Honor
August 22, 2009 02:08:26Honoring positive portrayals of Latinos and Latino culture in entertainment, the Imagen Foundation has announced the winners of the 24th annual Imagen Awards. At the event held at Beverly Hilton on Friday night, August 21, Walt Disney Pictures' "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" has been hailed as Best Feature Film.
The adventure comedy film also nailed a Best Supporting Actor prize for the actor who plays Sam Cortez, Manolo Cardona. Though grabbing two kudos at the awards, "Chihuahua" failed to secure the Best Actor prize despite the fact that two of its leading stars, George Lopez and Andy Garcia, were nominated for the category. The prize went to Luis Guzman of "Maldeamores".

'Beverly Hills Chihuahua' Still the Top Dog at Box Office
October 13, 2008 09:10:47For the second time in a row since its release on October 3, Walt Disney Pictures' talking dog tale "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" has led the weekend box office chart. Staying firm at the #1 position, the Raja Gosnell-directed comedy adventure brings to the table $17.5 million to add to the total of $52.5 million over the past ten days of screening.
On the success of "Chihuahua" maintaining the top slot, it is suggested that one of the possible factors for the flick's triumph may come from the fact that the movie in which Drew Barrymore lends her voice is the only light comedy amidst the vast release of drama films.

Exceeding many expectations with $29.3 million, the Walt Disney Pictures flick about a lost chihuahua trying to find its way home pushes aside last week topper "Eagle Eye" by collecting approximately ten million more than the crime thriller.
Played in 3,215 theaters across the country, "Chihuahua" marks the best Disney's opening ever for October. Expressing the studio's excitement over the success of the family comedy flick, Disney's president of distribution Chuck Viane let out, "In a market with seven new pictures, it's terrific to be the No. 1 movie. It's not easy to compete when there is that much distraction and people are being pulled in every direction"

Chihuahuas Extravaganza at the World Premiere of 'Beverly Hills Chihuahua'
September 19, 2008 02:09:14Walt Disney Pictures have thrown a unique celebration for the world premiere of "Beverly Hills Chihuahua". On Thursday, September 18, the mouse house have rolled out their red carpet in front of El Capitan Theater in Hollywood to welcome celebrity guests as well as the two stars of the night, Chihuahuas Angel and Rusco.
Making special appearances at the special evening, the pair of canines posed on the red carpet with their human co-stars, Jamie Lee Curtis, the actress portraying Chloe's owner, and George Lopez, the actor voicing Papi. Angel who plays the lead character Chloe was held in Curtis' arm, while Rusco, the canine cast for Papi, was carried by Lopez.

The trailer opens with an introduction to the pampered world of dogs displaying the white-colored chihuahua by the name of Chloe getting a rich and famous treatment from an exclusive pet's store and beauty salon. But, Chloe's perfect world is about to change as her owner has to entrust her to her nephew. Having to go along with the nephew to Mexico, Chloe suddenly finds that she is lost. Now, she has to rely on unlikely friends to get herself home.

First Teaser Trailer of Drew Barrymore's 'Beverly Hills Chihuahua' Arrives
May 06, 2008 04:05:47It seems that Walt Disney Pictures are ready to introduce their latest comedy film project as they let out the first teaser trailer of the upcoming live-action dog tale "Beverly Hills Chihuahua". The video footage of the movie featuring the voices of Drew Barrymore, Andy Garcia and Salma Hayek takes one and a half minutes of screening and it gives out a general picture of who is the star in the film.
Opened with a series of clips showing the lush and natural wonders of the earth, the trailer begins with an introduction made by the star of the teaser himself, Bobby. Claiming that he is the descendant of ancient warriors who join Aztec soldiers in war, Bobby goes further by explaining that he is now in the inner circle of the wealthiest and powerful people. When he has finished giving the description, he then unveils what he is, a Chihuahua and starts rapping through the rest of the teaser.
