Second Full Trailer of 'Australia'
October 02, 2008 03:10:24The second full length trailer from Baz Luhrmann's "Australia" has been presented. Taking viewers to grasp deeper into the period film, the video first introduces the two main characters, Lady Sarah Ashley and the Australian drover, as two completely opposite people from two different world. But, as the trailer picks up its pace, it moves on to show how the two bond with each other, falls in love and faces the bombing of the city of Darwin.
Coming from the man behind "Moulin Rouge!" and "Romeo + Juliet", "Australia" is set in the outback during the World War II and follows the adventures faced by an aristocratic English woman and a rugged cattle drover when they join forces to drive 2,000 cattle across hundreds of miles of the harsh terrain only to meet the bombing of the city of Darwin. Starring Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman, the 20th Century Fox romantic drama will hit the big screen on November 26.

Nicole Kidman's 'Australia' Pushed Back
August 28, 2008 03:08:27Those who are eager to see the latest period epic drama from prominent filmmaker Baz Luhrmann, "Australia", on the big screen apparently have to wait longer. According to Variety, the theatrical release date of the movie starring Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman has been pushed nearly two weeks back from its November 14 schedule to November 26.
The 20th Century Fox's decision on the shifting of the flick's release date allegedly has some connection with the 'pick-ups' filming currently done by Luhrmann in Down Under with lead thesps. With the delayed release, the "Moulin Rouge!" helmer will have more time in finishing the movie.

Starting at 9 A.M. on Monday, May 19, the studio have released the first trailer of "Australia", the romantic drama about an epic journey through the unforgiving outback, on the virtual world.
Timed at nearly two minutes, the compilation of clips gives out glimpses into Kidman's as well as Jackman's characters and what kind of danger and romance lays ahead of them. Opened with a unique introduction of the company logo using old newspaper, the trailer begins as the wife of singer Keith Urban walks into a shed in which she sits down to tell a story to an Aborigine child. Guided by her voice, the trailer the takes off showing the World War II scenes and the introduction to the two main characters.

The title was selected over few other names like "Great Southern Land" and "Faraway Downs", which is the name of the homestead in the flick.
