I thought it was outstanding. It was not predictable, it had a moral to the story and it was well acted. It's one of those films I could watch over and over again.

First few scenes a little uneven, but its was a real romp. And everyone got what they deserved. I always love that. Lots of fun. I bet Ed Harris' song during credits becomes a big hit on line and elsewhere. L.A. premiere was 5 star. Caterers's amazing.

I forgot to mention...Renee Zellweger does not play your typical Western genre whore. But she is a big ol' tramp for sure.

Too long; scenes drag on and on. Nothing new; typical Western--bad guys versus the good guys--the good guys win!

Does anyone know who compsed the song that played in the trailer?

It is the only movie I have ever fallen asleep in! Drags and drags with a so-so storyline (from what little I saw of it). I really tried to SEE it, but just couldn't stay awake. It lulled me to sleep, even though I had really looked forward to seeing it.

Slower than a shootem up action adventure movie? Yes, it's a Western & a very well done Western. Great photography, acting & story, best of all it's authentic. What slows it down somewhat is the authenticity, but that transports you to 1882 New Mexico. For those that appreciate Westerns & the Old West - it's a must see. Cudos to Ed Harris bringing this to the screen.

Ed Harris is GREAT!

Like an old-fashioned western!

This is a character study. There is no black or white but everything is shades of gray. The motivations of people are considered and people make choices based on their needs and beliefs. Viggo and Ed Harris were wonderful, Jeremy Irons is always a great bad guy. Renee was one of the more interesting characters I've seen in a movie. Hated her but it was intriguing.

This is a very well written and even better performed Western. Every person is entitled to their own opinion. Nonetheless, I find it challenging to believe that any fan of a Western and/or comprehensive character development could possibly fall asleep on this movie. Another poster asked this quesiton. I will ask it again. Does anyone know the music that plays in this trailer? It is also in the trailer for Changeling. Unforuntately, it is not on either soundtrack.

The song is called "House of Cards" by Automachine, ale yes, you probably heard this in "Pride and Glory's" trailer.

I'm a western fan and found this movie to be excellent..the actors and authenticity and music were very good..Ed Harris & Viggo Mortesen's characters were suberb..Just a great movie all the way around.
