'Amelia' Reels In International Trailer and Three New Clips

More sneak peeks into the forthcoming biopic "Amelia" have been shared in the form of an international trailer and three clips. The brand new trailer is put out in the film's official site, while the clips are found at Comcast. All of them present a closer look at Hilary Swank as legendary aviatrix Amelia Earhart.

During an "Amelia" event held at Essex County airport in Fairfield, N.J. on Friday, October 16, the Academy Award-winning actress talked about her experience learning to fly a plane. "I'm not a big sweater, but I would find after a two-hour flight lesson, I would land and my back would be drenched just from the concentration," she recalled as quoted by OK! Magazine.

First real look into Amelia Earhart's biopic, "Amelia", emerges for viewing pleasure through its brand new trailer. Providing an idea of how the drama movie will look like, this promotional video also presents Hilary Swank as Amelia, Richard Gere as Amelia's husband, George P. Putnam, and Ewan McGregor as Amelia's lover, Gene Vidal.

Kicked off with a shot of a muscular plane flying over a terrain, the trailer continues to expose Amelia, her dream of going to strange, faraway places, and her vision to be the first woman who flies around the world. It previews glimpses of her relationship with the two men in her life as well as the danger she faces when she lives up her dream.

Richard Gere Set to Fly With Hilary Swank in 'Amelia'

It seems that landing one leading role after another is not a hard thing to do for veteran actor Richard Gere. After getting hired for Warner Bros. Pictures' crime drama "Brooklyn's Finest", the co-star of Julia Roberts in "Pretty Woman" has been tapped to star opposite Hilary Swank in Amelia Earhart's biopic project "Amelia".

In the film executively produced by Swank and scribbler Ron Bass, the 54-year-old actor will take the important role of publisher George Putnam who happens to be Amelia's husband. The Golden Globe award-recipient for his role in "Chicago" will bring Putnam to the big screen under the direction of "Vanity Fair" helmer Mira Nair and is going to join Swank when the lensing begins in late-April in Toronto, Nova Scotia and South Africa.

'Vanity Fair' Helmer Onboard the Amelia Earhart's Biopic Project

When director Philip Noyce dropped his involvement from the biopic project of the famous American aviation pioneer, Amelia Earhart, before Christmas 2007, the fate of "The Story of Amelia Earhart" was in jeopardy. However, Moviehole.net has reported that the film has found a new director to bring the project to life in "Vanity Fair" helmer Mira Nair.

If the Indian director is indeed onboard the project, she is going to work with the two-time Academy Award-winning actress Hilary Swank who has been signed to star as the renowned aviatrix. Despite the hiring of Nair, there is no word about when the production will be started, but the film is scheduled to be released in 2009.
