With the launching of "" official site, a new full-length trailer for the historical drama comes out for viewing pleasure. Around two minutes long, this sneak peek highlights on the violent religious upheaval in the streets of Alexandria, and Hypatia's effort to save the collected wisdom of the ancient world.

Set in fourth century Alexandria, this ancient Egyptian epic centers its story on the love of a slave named Davus for his master who is astrologer-philosopher known as Hypatia of Alexandria. While Davus is torn between his love for his mistress and the possibility of gaining his freedom by joining the rising tide of Christianity, Hypatia fights to save the old world's wisdom from the religious riots sweeping the streets of Alexandria.

The first teaser trailer of "" has come out. Nearly two-minute long, this Spanish teaser is yet to include any dialog. Still, it displays much of the epic scenes, such as the uprising of Christianity, as well as a look into some of the characters in the historical drama, including 's Hypatia of Alexandria.

The former "The Mummy" beauty has been tapped to star in an ancient Egyptian epic entitled "". According to Variety, the 37-year-old actress is set to play Hypatia, an Alexandrian astrologer-philosopher struggling to save the collected wisdom of the ancient world.

In the movie by "Vanila Sky" writer Alejandro Amenabar, she will showcase her acting skill alongside Max Minghella, 's co-star in "". Additionally, the co-star of in "About a Boy" will be portraying her character under the direction of Amenabar in the helmer's second English-language film following 's "The Others".

It looks WONDERFUL! Mateo Gil and Alejandro Amenabar have done their homework. As a student of late antiquity I recognize the places they've created: the Caesarium, the Serapeum, the Sun Gate — they're all there, beautifully realized — along with the characters from Hypatia's story. I can't wait to see this.

I am from spain so I could see the movie yesterday and i have to say that this film is an absolutely masterpiece about how the religion make people go crazy... breathtaking and the end just break my heart...
