Vampire Tale 30 Days of Night Claims Box Office's Top Slot
October 22, 2007 03:10:57As people continue to opt for escapist fare in theaters, it's now the turn of vampire movie "30 Days of Night" to taste its initial triumph on the box office competition running over the weekend of October 19-21, 2007.
Outdistancing its fellow new releases, the Columbia Pictures fright flick successfully garnered quite an impressive amount of $15.95 million in its three-day debut to snatch the top holder of the chart from "Why Did I Get Married?". The Lionsgate release in turn had to go down one place to number two, being only able to put another $12.2 million into its feedbag.

Black Carpet Rolled Out for 30 Days of Night L.A. Premiere
October 18, 2007 10:10:56Something unusual marked the world premiere of "30 Days of Night" in Los Angeles on Tuesday, October 16, 2007. Taking place at Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood, the occasion surprisingly got a black carpet spread instead of the common red one, but this thankfully didn't seem to reduce the merry atmosphere on the spot, brighten up by the presence of famous names in Hollywood.
Major portion of spotlights certainly went to the some of the horror thriller's cast members who made their way to come celebrating the event. Male lead Josh Hartnett was spotted in semi-formal attire while his on-screen wife Melissa George turned many heads with her animal-print ensemble. Others included Danny Huston, Mark Rendall, Ben Foster, and Megan Franich.

Melissa George Counts on "30 Days of Night"
July 29, 2006 01:07:37Former "Alias" star Melissa George has been reported to join the cast of "30 Days of Night", MelissaGeorge.co.uk has revealed. Last seen appearing on the big screen in Clive Owen's 2005 vehicle of "Derailed", George will share the scene with Josh Hartnett, who is about to be seen in "The Black Dahlia" released on September 15.
In the film, George will play a deputy and wife of the Sheriff of Barrow played by Hartnett who both are torn between their own survival and saving the town they love when vampires come to generate terror and bring all the residents to their knees.

Alaska's Barrow, "30 Days of Night" Covered in Darkness
June 17, 2006 10:06:24New Zealand is going to be the next-screenplay location, this time, depicting the gloomy dark town in Alaska, Barrow, in a new screenplay by Columbia Pictures, "30 Days of Night".
This new project is scheduled to start shooting in early August 2006, having Stuart Beattie and Brian Nelson write the script and David Slade in hand directing. "40 Days and 40 Nights" actor, Josh Hartnett is taking the role as the town's Sheriff, one of the only hopes for Barrow's inhabitants to get out from the inferno. Hartnett is still involved in the up-coming "Resurrecting the Champ" and planned to perform in "The Black Dahlia" after his last performance in "Lucky Number Slevin".
