Gerard Butler Could Return to '300' Sequel
July 03, 2009 04:07:39There is a slight possibility that Gerard Butler will return to reprise his King Leonidas role in "300" sequel. In a chat with MTV, producer Mark Canton hints that King Leonidas may well be brought back from the dead. "Never assume anything; never assume anything," he said when responding to the question if the original cast of "300" were gone for good.
Canton further explained, "It'll be what it'll be. But if we really do it, in this case, we have a visionary creator and a visionary filmmaker." Aside from addressing the casting possibility, the "Land of the Dead" producer also revealed that the sequel is moving forward well. "Things are always looking good with '300,' it's a blessing and a gift," he said.

Setting and Technology for '300' Sequel Discussed
June 26, 2009 09:06:50Nothing has been set in stone just yet for "300" sequel, but director Zack Snyder has indicated that he will use the same setting and technology to bring it to the big screen. "I think we would use the same technology... I don't want it to look too Star Wars-ian... Just from what [Miller] told me, it would be bigger as far as landscape and terrain," the 43-year-old told Coming Soon.
"We're going to see Athens and the Aegean and other places," Snyder further shared before adding that the sequel is likely to be made in a grander scale. "There would be an opportunity for bigger visions, though I'd hope for the same aesthetic. The tech we used for '300' was not a revolution. It's basically what the weatherman has. Look, instead of Accuweather it's Sparta... It's going to be the same way, but on crazier steroids."

April 07, 2009 02:04:11Giving an update to possible "300" follow-up, director Zack Snyder has opened up more on the possible plot ideas for another installment of the action drama. To MTV, the 43-year-old filmmaker revealed what he has heard of author Frank Miller's idea for part two of "300".
"There's something that happens in history between Leonidas dying at the Hot Gates and Platea," Snyder explained of the possible plot, mentioning the events between the Battle of Thermopylae and the Battle of Plataea. "That's a year that's left out of the [original] movie. A lot happened."

No Prequel Film for '300'
December 15, 2008 03:12:11In contrary to director Zack Snyder's remark that forthcoming "300" prequel/sequel will be both prequel and sequel, comic book writer-director Frank Miller claimed that the possible follow-up movie won't be a prequel. Talking to Superhero Hype! on Saturday, December 13, the helmer of "The Spirit" fessed up, "I've written a story that's not a prequel."
Though explaining that the story he has written is a follow-up of the Greek warriors movie, the 51-year-old still played it coy. "It's definitely a further story in the Greco-Persian Wars," he said, "and it involves some of the same characters but I'm not sure exactly how far along it'll get and again, until it's on a marquee, I don't believe in it."
