Updates of '1906' and 'Toy Story 3' From Brad Bird
February 07, 2009 11:02:26While attending the premiere of "Coraline", director Brad Bird made time to talk about his upcoming project, "1906", as well as Pixar's "Toy Story 3". Opening up to Latino Review on how far along is "1906", the 51-year-old filmmaker confessed that though he is still working on the script, the pre-production phase has begun.
"We're looking at places to shoot it. The script I'm still working. it's a really hard script to write," the two-time Academy Award recipient explained. "And mostly because there are so many interesting things going on in that place and that particular period of time that anytime you're going towards something, you're going away from 5 other cool things. So it's been really hard for me to write. but I think it's going to great. and we'll see IF they have the courage to make."

Brad Bird's '1906' Going to Pompeii Ruins?
April 15, 2008 02:04:07As an article in Newsweek noted that Pixar is more likely to rent the famous ruins of Pompeii to be a film set came out, many speculated that the film intended to be shot there may have been Warner Bros. Pictures' latest movie project "1906". However, further reports suggested that the earlier rumors maybe a false one after all.
On the speculation, Slash Film noted that The Pixar Blog has pointed out that the Brad Bird-directed film probably won't need the filming of the famous site near Naples, Italy as the film, though is set in the early 20th century, tells the story of the eminent earthquake occurred in San Fransisco, California. Further, Slash also explained that the James Dalessandroonce's book from which the film is adapted never mentions the location.

Brad Bird Recalls Events Happened Back in "1906"
February 24, 2007 03:02:13At last Brad Bird can have a live-action flick in his hands. After previously directed a series of animated works, notably "The Incredibles", the man reportedly is on board to helm "1906", a dramatic feature coming from Warner Bros. Pictures.
Based on James Dalessandro's historical fiction of the same title, the project depicts the events surrounding the 1906 great San Francisco Earthquake and fire. Bird is said to make the flick after finishing work on his next Pixar effort, "Ratatouille", which is set to open in U.S. theaters on June 29 this year.
