'Star Trek' Sequel Can Have Khan and William Shatner

Abrams opens doors to the possibility of villain Khan Noonien Singh and original star William Shatner appearing in next movies. When talking to MTV on Friday, May 15, the filmmaker said, "Believe me, whether it's William Shatner or Khan ... it would be ridiculous to not be open to those ideas," after pointing out that the newly-released "Star Trek" has established an alternate timeline that allows new storylines to be told.
"It'll be fun to hear what Alex and Bob are thinking about Khan," Abrams moreover said of his future meeting with screenwriters Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci to discuss the potential plots for the sequel. "The fun of this timeline is arguing that different stories, with the same characters, could be equally if not more compelling than what's been told before."
2009 Prism Awards Winners in TV

Dana Delany grabs the top honor for her performance as Katherine in "Desperate Housewives" while William Shatner takes the same honor in opposite gender for his portrayal of Denny in "Boston Legal".
Also praised for their performance are Benjamin Bratt who played a recovering drug addict in A&E's "The Cleaner" and Chandra Wilson for her role as Yvonne Caldwell in Hallmark Original Movie "Accidental Friendship". Awards are given out in a ceremony which will be aired on FX Network on September 26 as part of National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month.
Part for William Shatner in 'Star Trek' Was Written
September 09, 2008 09:09:02William Shatner, the actor who has portrayed Captain Kirk in the original "Star Trek" television series, actually had a part written for him in new "Star Trek" film. The fact was let out by director/producer J.J. Abrams when he opened up to AMC about the actual plan for the star, "It was very tricky. We actually had written a scene with him in it that was a flashback kind of thing, but the truth is, it didn't quite feel right."
Explaining about the problem the filmmakers have to face, the creator of "Alias added, "The bigger thing was that he was very vocal that he didn't want to do a cameo. We tried desperately to put him in the movie, but he was making it very clear that he wanted the movie to focus on him significantly, which, frankly, he deserves."

Abrams puts any speculations to rest. While discussing about his forthcoming television series "Fringe" in New York, the filmmaker insisted that the original Captain Kirk will not show up in the movie.
On the matter, Abrams rejected Shatner's chance on appearing in the film simply saying as quoted by IGN, " No, the only cast member from the original films is Nimoy." By stating Nimoy, he meant Leonard Nimoy, the original depicter of the USS Enterprise's science officer Mr. Spock. Previously, Shatner has also denied his involvement in the eleventh film saying, "I have no connection with the film whatsoever. It's the strangest thing. Even my dear friend Leonard [Nimoy] won't tell me what it's about."

It is the second year in a row that Canadian Business magazine reveals its annual Celebrity Power List. It is an annual ranking of the most powerful Canadians in Hollywood, based on four factors which are estimated salary, press clippings, number of Google hits and number of TV appearances.
Top the list at No. 1 is actor Jim Carrey whose improved web scores and a bump in the TV category put him ahead of Pamela Anderson at 2nd place after her sitcom "Stacked" was cancelled. Rounding out the Top 5 are Keanu Reeves, Kiefer Sutherland, and Montreal-born actor William Shatner.

This surely could be such a good news for those who want to make their way in entertainment industry. William Shatner has announced on Thursday, August 10 that he is coming up with an online contest to look for the most talented sci-fi personality in the States. What's more, the competition delightfully does not focus on finding a star only as it also invites aspiring directors, filmmakers, and film critics to join in, an approach that is rarely found in any other talent contests for sure.
Here the contestants are required to make a short video clip that really demonstrates their talent then upload it at http://Shatner.blip.tv during the run of the contest up to September 30. William Shatner's Kidney Stone Sold for Charity

Shatner reached agreement Monday January 16th to sell the stone to GoldenPalace.com, noted for its collection of oddities, which includes a partially eaten cheese sandwich thought to contain the image of the Virgin Mary.
Shattered Captain James Brought to Hospital
October 20, 2005 10:10:37William Shatner is shattered. The actor, best known for his role as Captain James T. Kirk on "Star Trek," was brought to hospital after complaining of back pain on the set of ABC's "Boston Legal" on Tuesday. The 74-year-old star was transported by ambulance from the show's set in the Los Angeles suburb of Manhattan Beach to the nearby Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance.
Speaking on his latest condition, his publicist Stacey Luchs said Shatner was taken to the hospital "as a precautionary measure only." He did examined but not admitted, and "is resting comfortably at home." He is due back on set Wednesday.
