'30 Rock' and 'Mad Men' Snag Best Series at 61st Emmys
September 21, 2009 10:09:20"30 Rock" and "Mad Men" managed to grab the coveted awards at the 61st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. The former was hailed as the Best Comedy Series while the latter was the winner of Best Drama Series. This would be "Mad Men" second time in a row to win the category while for "30 Rock" it's their third year holding the title.
The cast ensemble for both shows took the stage to receive the trophy. "30 Rock" creator Tina Fey thanked NBC for keep airing the show although it is much more expensive than a talk show. Creator of "Mad Men" Matthew Weiner meanwhile said, "We worked very hard to not have it stink the second year. It is an amazing time to work in TV and I know that everything is changing but I'm not afraid of it because I feel like all these different media, it's just more choice and more entertainment and it's better for the viewers in the end, and I'm glad to be a part of it."
Early Winners of 61st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards
September 21, 2009 10:09:19Kristin Chenoweth and Jon Cryer were among the early winners at 61st Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday, September 20. Chenoweth won the Best Supporting Actress in Comedy for her role on the now-canceled "Pushing Daisies" while Cryer snagged the Best Supporting Actor part.
Cryer, the depicter of Alan on "Two and a Half Men" beat Neil Patrick Harris who was hosting the show. In finding out that his role as Barney on "How I Met Your Mother" did not win, Harris cracked the joke, "It's not awkward. I won't let it get awkward."

She suffers from multiple personality disorder that boxes her into four different personalities; herself, a wild and pot-smoking teenager named T, a perfect stay-at-home wife named Alice and a beer-loving male named Buck. All these contribute to the well-being of her family; a hard-working husband of 20 years, a son who has a crush on a boy, a teen daughter who struggles with the boundaries between her and boys and a sister who holds the key to Tara's past.

This time, the two-time Golden Globe-nominated actress will step in for Toni Collette in the developed Sam Mendes' project, "Farlanders".
The sister of actor Jake Gyllenhaal fills in Collette's role since the latter actress quit the project following the shooting delays. Constructing a good cast ensemble, Allan Ball has finally put the names of Aaron Eckhart, Toni Collette, and Maria Bello in the list for his untitled drama feature which will be his directorial big screen debut, Variety has reported. Apart from the three stars, newcomer Summer Bishil has also been included in the list along with TV actor Peter Macdissi.
Set to begin filming process by mid September in Los Angeles, pic will be produced by Ball alongside Ted Hope and Steven M. Rales with Scott Rudin, Peggy Rajski, and Anne Carey to executive produce. The story focuses on the life of a girl named Jasira as she struggles with identity and sexual issues for being the daughter of a Lebanese-American father and an American mother during the Gulf War.

Karen Moncrieff is doing the preparation to resurrect "The Dead Girl". It is a drama mystery flick which actually is the follow up to her "Blue Car".
And in an attempt to bring the project into life, Moncrieff has set the likes of Josh Brolin, Rose Byrne, Toni Collette, James Franco, Marcia Gay Harden, Mary Beth Hurt, Brittany Murphy, Giovanni Ribisi, Mary Steenburgen and Kerry Washington to star in.
"In Her" World Premieres
July 15, 2005 10:07:58The Toronto International Film Festival announced Tuesday the world premieres of such movies, as "In Her Shoes," "Pride and Prejudice," and "Proof." As for the first movie mentioned is of Curtis Hanson and based on Jennifer Weiner novel. The movie starring Cameron Diaz and Toni Collette will have its theatrical release on October 7 by 20th Century Fox.
In the meantime, Joe Wright's "Pride and Prejudice," which is based on the Jane Austen novel and stars Keira Knightley, is scheduled for September 23 release in the U.S. via Focus Features. Besides both movies, John Madden direction "Proof," starring Gwyneth Paltrow, will have its North American premiere on September 8-15. Ahead of their fall theatrical releases, all of those movies will receive high-profile gala screenings at Roy Thomson Hall in downtown Toronto.
