'RocknRolla' World Premiere Marked by Madonna's Surprising Appearance

Pictures were hosting an eventful evening for their forthcoming "RocknRolla" as the action thriller film rolled down red carpet at the Odeon cinema in West End, London in celebration of its world premiere. Making the special event even more merry, the red carpet saw a surprise appearance from Guy Ritchie's superstar wife, Madonna.
Arriving minutes before the film was screened, the pop legend who was dressed in a short black Stella McCartney dress strolled down the carpet arm-in-arm with her director husband. Beside Madonna and Ritchie, the premiere was also attended by many of the cast ensemble, including Gerard Butler, Thandie Newton, Idris Elba, Geoff Bell, Jimi Mistry, Mark Strong, Tom Wilkinson and Tom Hardy, as well as the film's producers, Joel Silver and Susan Downey.
HBO's 'John Adams' Nabs a Leading 23 Emmy Nominations
July 18, 2008 09:07:46The complete list of nominees for the 2008 Primetime Emmy Awards was announced Thursday morning, July 17. The 60th annual awards event, which is set to be aired live on ABC from NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE, Los Angeles on September 21 later this year, witnessed HBO's miniseries "John Adams" nabbed a leading 23 nominations, namely Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie for its star Paul Giamatti and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie for Laura Linney just to name a few.
Comedy series "30 Rock" followed close behind with 17 nominations and the drama series "Mad Men" was the other big nominee with 16 nods in total. Below is the list of some of the awards nominees. The complete list, meanwhile, can be viewed at Emmy's official site.
12th San Diego Film Critics Society Awards Recipients Listed
December 19, 2007 10:12:33American critics groups appear to mostly put "No Country for Old Men" in their top list of film choices as the crime drama thriller took another best picture honor from San Diego Film Critics Society, which revealed on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 the winners of its 12th annual SDFCS Awards.
Apart from the top prize, the movie also scored in three other categories of Best Ensemble Performance, Best Supporting Actor for Tommy Lee Jones, and Best Cinematography for Roger Deakins. Pic, however, only managed to bring its makers, brothers Joel and Ethan Coen, the runner-up title in Best Director and Adapted Screenplay slots for both went to Paul Thomas Anderson of "There Will Be Blood."
Film Honorees Named at the 12th Satellite Awards
December 18, 2007 10:12:07Finally picking up the best out of a slew of lauded titles and names, the International Press Academy (IPA) listed out on Sunday evening (Dec. 16) recipients of this year's Satellite Awards, giving away most honors to teen pregnancy drama "Juno."
The Fox Searchlight release gloriously scooped up three major kudos in total, notably that of the Best Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical. Two others went to Ellen Page as the Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical and Diablo Cody as the recipient of best original screenplay.
Kevin Spacey Signed on to Star in HBO's Recount

Kicked off his early career as a stage actor before then being cast in numbers of big screen projects, Kevin Spacey is ready to invade the small screen with his being signed to star in HBO's upcoming made for TV movie "Recount" which chronicles the contested presidential election of 2000.
A political drama, "Recount" will focus its story on the ordinary people caught up in the extraordinary events surrounding the fateful vote. It begins with the November 7th elections, follows the slew of controversial court challenges and recounts and culminates with the December 12th Supreme Court ruling that effectively handed George W. Bush the presidency.
Five Ready to "RocknRolla"

Going pretty fast in recruiting talents for the flick's cast, filmmakers of "RocknRolla" have delightfully submitted well-known names of Gerard Butler, Idris Elba, Tom Wilkinson, Thandie Newton, and rapper Ludacris as the early lineup of the list.
A caper movie, the project is set in motion when a Russian mobster orchestrates a crooked land deal and millions of dollars are thrown up for grabs, with all of London's criminal underworld players wanting in on the action. Butler is said to play One Two, a street-smart mobster who has learned to play both sides of the fence while Elba will be his partner Mumbles.

Since being unveiled back in March, up to this moment there is no sign of "Valkyrie" filmmakers taking names into its cast apart from Tom Cruise. However, word is circulating now that the project has enticed five more actors to join in.
According to LatinoReview.com, the likes of Bill Nighy, Tom Wilkinson, Kenneth Branagh, Stephen Fry, and Patrick Wilson are all "in discussions" to take starring slot in the flick, a fact-based World War II thriller of United Artists production.

Joining forces together, Hollywood names consisting of Rosamund Pike, Tom Wilkinson, Alan Cumming, Richard E. Grant, and Timothy Spall have all agreed to lend their voices to "Jackboots on Whitehall", a WWII spoof animated comedy of Britain's Swipe Films production.
Also lining up the U.K voice cast like Richard O'Brien and Pam Ferris, the project gives an alternative story of WWII with presenting what would have happened had Germany invaded Britain but were then defeated by the Scots at the border with England.
Woody Allen Is Going to Get Back to London with Atwell

The unique, uncanny Hollywood movie helm, Woody Allen, is determined to direct his new summer 2006 screenplay project, which is still an untitled one. His determination also includes his being fully stoked to attach the leading female role to the least-known British actress, Hayley Atwell.
Atwell is currently doing stage performances. She currently appears in "The Line of Beauty", a drama series by the BBC. Atwell is also attached for other two novel BBC projects. So far, she receives public exposures only from the BBC drama. Her involvement in Allen's project might be her sound debut for Hollywood to hear.

Simply called "Summer 2006 Project," the Woody Allen's upcoming film project will have such actors as Colin Farrell, Tom Wilkinson, and Ewan McGregor to star in.
Besides, there will also female cast which has yet to be announced. As of the film, it reportedly is the tale of two brothers with serious financial woes. When a third party proposes they turn to crime, things go bad and the two become enemies.
Stars Joining 'Michael Clayton'

The story of the film centers on a New York attorney who learns that after 15 years of cleaning up his high profile clients problems, they can come back to haunt you, in what will be the last and worst days of his career.
Set to play the attorney is actor George Clooney. In the meantime, Tom Wilkinson, Tilda Swinton and Sydney Pollack have all joined Clooney to star in.
