The Police to Release Live CD/DVD of Reunion Tour
July 16, 2008 03:07:10Fans of legendary group The Police who missed out on watching their recent reunion concerts will have the chance to check out the tour in a form of a live CD/DVD, set to be dropped later this year. The live album is taken from the band's two shows held in Buenos Aires, Argentina on December 1-2, 2007.
Revealing the reason they picked their concerts in Argentina as the one they recorded for the upcoming record, the Police's drummer Stewart Copeland said to Billboard.com, "Those rockin' Argentines -- man, are they noisy. It was a pretty exciting show." Not only featuring their live shows, to make it more special on the upcoming DVD package, the band will also include a documentary of their reunion tour.

Thanks to her 70-date Best of Both Worlds concert tour, which was a sold out, as well as her millions of CDs, book deal, and movie projects that she could secure a spot in the publication's annual list of Celebrity 100, which ranks celebrities on money and fame, being ranked at No. 35.
Teen crooners the Jonas Brothers are also considered powerful, make the list at No. 89. The brothers, age 15 to 20, are praised to have taken in $9 million from touring, plus another $3 million from CD sales, merchandise and television deals.
The Police to Hold Last Concert Ever
May 07, 2008 11:05:09Legendary super group The Police have announced an important detail regarding their upcoming and probably last concert. The band revealed at press conference on May 6, that they will hold their "Last Concert Ever" in New York without confirming the date yet.
Beside still keeping quiet about the date, the venue and tickets information are also being kept a secret by the band. But there's a hint from N.Y.C's mayor Michael Bloomberg that the concert could be held indoor. "The venue will probably be indoors, but that's all I'm going to say," said Michael.
The Police to Close 2008 Isle of Wight

"It's a coup to get The Police for the festival," promoter John Giddings said in a statement. "We're very happy to have the biggest tour of the last two years stopping by the Isle of Wight."
Bon Jovi Giving Head Start to Revived MTV's "Unplugged"

Making a return, MTV's "Unplugged" won't take half for what can be full throttle. Names of musicians already on the list to fill in this summer's episodes are Bon Jovi, The Police, Kenny Chesney, Mary J. Blige, and John Mayer.
As the opening, Bon Jovi will give a head start of the series on June 22 on MTV. This footage will also be viewed on VH1 and CMT with the network's respective tailored version of "Unplugged". The broadcast will coincide with the band's new album "Lost Highway" which comes out 3 days prior the show.
The Police Gave Good Starter Kick in Reunion Tour

Despite the backstage arguments, The Police delivered a magnificent kick off reunion concert in Vancouver Canada on May 27. Twenty-one songs and 125 minutes later, 4,000 fans were drenched in satisfaction for their first concert in nearly 20 years.
Taking place in Vancouver's GM Place, the concert was bound for fan club audience only. The band which is comprised of singer/bassist Sting, guitarist Andy Summers, and drummer Stewart Copeland chose "Message in a Bottle" to be the first song performed. They also included "Walking on the Moon", "Roxanne" and "Every Breath You Take" in the song list before concluding with "Next to You".

Joining the star studded Virgin Festival is The Police. The newly reunited band has confirmed their presence to close the first night of the Baltimore festival.
With the addition of The Police, V Festival becomes the event with big reunion bands. The Smashing Pumpkins also make one of their early reunion appearances in this festival. Like The Police, The Smashing Pumpkins is made the headliner of Baltimore leg but on the second day. Baltimore's jaunt takes place August 4 and 5.
Sting Molds Lyrics to Paperback

Not only a poet gets the chance to accumulate their words in a book, musician Sting will have his lyrics comprised in a paperback. Coming out this fall via The Dial Press is simple-titled book "Lyrics by Sting".
Every word that the 55 years old singer wrote both as a solo artist and as the lead singer of The Police will be recorded in the book. Fans can expect Sting's personal commentary on his works such as "Roxanne", "Every Breath You Take" and "Spirits in the Material World".
The Police Adds Two More Gigs

Seemingly excited for the reunion, The Police manages to slip in two more gigs in between the tight schedule. Apart from the additional European Tour dates that have just been announced, the band will also perform at Wrigley Field, Chicago on July 5 and at Churchill Downs, Louisville on July 14 as part of the North American Tour.
It has also been made official that British act Fiction Plane will support the band in the tour. Other names such as Foo Fighters, Maroon 5, The Fratellis, and Sloan are also mentioned to appear alongside The Police in a smaller scale.

The newly reunited three-piece rock band The Police can't seem to wait to hit the road sooner. After the planning of The Police Reunion Tour designed for May 28 until August 5, the band has recently confirmed the European Tour which will begin August 29 at the Globe Arena in Stockholm following sold out dates in North America.
The band will also play both indoors and outdoors in Germany, France, Holland, Austria, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Denmark and Switzerland with increasing list of venues to be announced. "The anticipation and excitement to see The Police is overwhelming. We are absolutely thrilled to be bringing the band to fans new and old," said Arthur Fogel, Live Nation Chairman of Global Music.

As of this year, the Bonnaroo Music Festival is scheduled to take place June 14-17 on a 700-acre farm in rural Manchester, Tenn., 60 miles south of Nashville. And among the 75 acts slated to perform at the music festival, there are the likes of The Police, The White Stripes, Tool and Wilco.
The complete lineup, to be announced Wednesday Feb 14th, includes planned performances by Widespread Panic, The Roots, Franz Ferdinand, and The Flaming Lips. Also slated to perform among others are The Decemberists, The Hold Steady, Regina Spektor and many more.

It's official. Rock trio The Police, who broke up in 1984, made it official Monday Feb 12th at a rehearsal at the Whisky a Go-Go by announcing their first tour in decades.
The Police, whose members are Sting, Andy Summers, and Stewart Copeland, have officially put on the green light for their 2007 reunion tour. It begins May 28th in Vancouver, British Columbia, moving to Europe in September and October, then re-crossing the Atlantic.

The year 2007 brings The Police so much more as the band, who will be reuniting to perform at the 49th Grammy Awards on Sunday Feb 11th, is set to announce details of their reunion world tour and will moreover mark their 30th anniversary with special treatment, a private rehearsal, for their fanatics.
"The Police Rehearsal" is set to take place Monday Feb 12th at the legendary Whisky A Go Go on the Sunset Strip. In a posting on Wednesday Feb 7th, frontman Sting announced that in order to enter the drawing for a spot, fans must be "legacy members" of Sting's official Web site, Sting.com. After that there will be 20 fans selected to attend the event.
The Police Reunite at the 49th Annual Grammy Awards

British rock band The Police will play together again when they reunite at the upcoming 49th Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on February 11th.
It was confirmed Tuesday Jan 30th by The Recording Academy that the trio will reunite and open the show when it airs in about a week and a half on CBS at 8pm EST. The Recording Academy released a statement which read, "The Police join a stellar list of past Grammy Awards opening acts, which includes reunions and once-in-a-lifetime performances."
