The Hives Facing Legal Action Over Alleged Plagiarism
October 30, 2008 03:10:12Swedish rock band The Hives will enter the court room against Jason Shapiro as he sues them for copyright infringement. The U.S. songwriter claims that the vocal melody and riff from the band's song "Tick Tick Boom" off their 2007 LP, "The Black and White Album", are taken from a song penned by him called "Why You?".
Shapiro says that he first found the similarity between the two songs after listening "Tick Tick Boom" featured on the trailer of movie "Get Smart". Curious with the resemblance between the two singles, he then took both songs to a musicologist.
The Hives' Cartoon Network Video Released!

Since the song is utilized as Cartoon Network's fall theme song, the 30 second clip is combining their performance and animations. The song accompanies a new set of the network's promos which are directed by Shilo.
The Hives Put Entire 'Black and White Album' on MySpace
November 10, 2007 02:11:18Rooting from highly-infectious 'Tick Tick Boom', The Hives is now the featured artist on MySpace. The band that recently collaborated with Timbaland in the song 'Throw It on Me' will release their fourth studio effort 'The Black and White Album' on November 13.
Being featured on MySpace has granted fans of the band to have an exclusive listening party of the album. All the fourteen tracks included in the standard version of the album are available for listening on their MySpace page.
Maroon 5 Brings Second Set in Fall Tour

Maroon 5 will finally bring their new record to North America. The five-piece band will hit arenas this fall to promote their latest effort "It Won't Be Soon Before Long" that peaked at #1 in Billboard Hot 200 in the first week of its release.
"We can't wait to get out on the road and perform in arenas. This tour will have something for everyone, new and old fans alike, with our new music mixed with some of our earlier hits," said frontman Adam Levine.
Timbaland Announces Details on Second LP

It's been eight years now that Timbaland brings to the surface details on his second solo album, a follow up to his debut "Tim's Bio" which was released in 1998.
The forthcoming album, titled "Timbaland Presents Shock Value", is scheduled for a March 28th release date and includes collaborations with Bjork, The Hives, Jay-Z, She Wants Revenge, Snoop Dogg, Fall Out Boy and Elton John.
