The Fratellis Said No to Welcome David Beckham
June 14, 2007 01:06:42
Scottish act The Fratellis refuses to record a song to welcome David Beckham in L.A. The band insists that the offer will drop their credibility as musician.
"We were like, 'No f**king way'," said frontman Jon Fratellis. "It would have got us noticed, of course, but we'd have lost our self-respect." The band was supposed to do The Beatles' classic "Hello Goodbye" for the official song in Beckham's first match as an L.A. Galaxy player in July.

Kasabian will then headline two nights in a row on July 16-17. LCD and The Enemy will come after that on July 18 and 31 respectively.
The Beatles' Album to Be Covered by Oasis, The Killers, etc
April 07, 2007 10:04:35
Forty years after the release of The Beatles' album "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", a number of artists revive the classics in their version. Oasis, The Killers and Kaiser Chiefs are among some covering the 1967 album.
It is reported that the new version will still use the same equipment that were used back then. Leslie Douglas of Radio 2 said, "This will be not only a unique radio event, but a very special musical moment. The range and quality of artists involved ensure that this will be a fitting tribute to one of the great albums of all time."
The Police Adds Two More Gigs
March 21, 2007 02:03:09
Seemingly excited for the reunion, The Police manages to slip in two more gigs in between the tight schedule. Apart from the additional European Tour dates that have just been announced, the band will also perform at Wrigley Field, Chicago on July 5 and at Churchill Downs, Louisville on July 14 as part of the North American Tour.
It has also been made official that British act Fiction Plane will support the band in the tour. Other names such as Foo Fighters, Maroon 5, The Fratellis, and Sloan are also mentioned to appear alongside The Police in a smaller scale.
