Jay-Z, Stevie Wonder, Kings of Leon and More Lined Up for Bonnaroo Fest
February 10, 2010 11:02:17Those who will rock Manchester, Tennessee at this year's Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival have been announced. Among the performers are Jay-Z, Stevie Wonder, Kings of Leon, Dave Matthews Band and Kid Cudi.
Other musical acts include Weezer, The Flaming Lips, The Dead Weather, Norah Jones, Regina Spektor, Rise Against, Tori Amos, Wale, Deadmau5, OK Go, Brandi Carlile and B.o.B. The annual festivity is scheduled to be held for four days, starting from June 10.
2009 mtvU Woodie Awards Noms Announced, Drake Up for Woodie of the Year
October 06, 2009 10:10:04Chosen by college students and music fans across U.S., nominations for the sixth annual mtvU Woodie Awards have been announced. New rappers Drake, Asher Roth and Kid Cudi are listed in one category each.
Drake goes head-to-head against Roth, Kings of Leon, MGMT and Silversun Pickups, vying for Woodie of the Year. As for Cudi, he is among the contenders for Best Video Woodie along with Death Cab for Cutie, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Anjulie, The Dead Weather and Matt and Kim.
Jack White of The White Stripes Has a New Band, The Dead Weather
March 13, 2009 10:03:16Guitarist/lead vocalist of The White Stripes, Jack White, has formed a new band called The Dead Weather. "This band is the first project to come out of this new system, which is our new studio in town and this building," he said.
Jack debuted his new band at a private party in Nashville, Tennessee taking place on Wednesday, March 11 at the headquarters of the Third Man Records. Musicians seen attending the party included fellow singers Sheryl Crow and Martina McBride as well as The White Stripes' member Meg White.
