February 27, 2008 10:02:56In a quick response to save their reputation, Maxim magazine has released a statement regarding The Black Crowes' album, "Warpaint" that they reviewed without actually listening it in its entirety. Editorial Director James Kaminsky apologized to the readers, admitting a policy breach.

The Black Crowes Unhappy With Maxim's Review on 'Warpaint'
February 23, 2008 01:02:33Unhappy with the way a Maxim's writer has reviewed their new album "Warpaint", The Black Crowes have released a statement lashing out the publication on their official site. The album received two-and-a-half stars out of five in the review despite the fact that the writer reportedly has not listened to the CD.
"The writer - who has not heard the album since advance CDs were not made available - wrote what appears to be a disparaging assessment anyway, citing, 'it hasn't left Chris Robinson and the gang much room for growth,'" read a post on the band's official Website. September 09, 2006 12:09:15
Is it a bad luck or merely bad news? You decide. Hard rock jam band The Black Crowes lost two of its members. Last week, the group's keyboardist Eddie Hawrysch, who had played with the band since 1991, exited the band for "personal issues". And on Wednesday September 6th, just one day before the band set to kick of their massive fall tour, guitarist Marc Ford also called it quit.
On Ford's resignation, the man's spokesperson claims health issues as the reason the musician called it quits, saying "All the difficult work he has done to gain his longest period of sobriety ever was in jeopardy while touring." On the other hand, Crowes manager, Pete Angelus, claimed Ford's departure as less than amicable for the guitarist was "immediately terminating his agreement" with the Crowes without giving 12 weeks notice required by his contract.
