T-Pain Sued for 5 Million Dollars Over Guyana Concert Cancellation
March 25, 2009 01:03:09T-Pain has been sued by concert promoters Hits and James Entertainment due to scrapping his scheduled concert in Guyana earlier last month. The promoters are seeking at least $5 million for breach-of-contract against the rapper, his Nappy Boy Touring company and promotions firm Chase Entertainment.
The promoters say they have paid T-Pain and his entourage a $75,000 advance, but then were left with a no-show following reports of death threats. As a result, they were forced to find a last minute replacement.

T-Pain Canceling Guyana Gig Due to 'Death and Kidnapping Threats'
February 24, 2009 11:02:32R&B singer/rapper T-Pain was forced to drop his scheduled performance in Guyana after receiving "credible death and kidnapping threats." He was said to receive the threat from an unidentified source via e-mail messages and telephone calls, promoter for the concert said.
Local police has been called to investigate the threat. At time of writing, there has been no further information regarding the case as investigation is reportedly still underway.

As usual the record will contain 20 most happening songs. Gracing the track list are charting single Avril Lavigne's "Girlfriend", 2007 CMT Music Award winning single Carrie Underwood's "Before He Cheats" and Billboard's airplay gainer Huey's "Pop, Lock &Drop It".

She hit it big with her new haircut. But beyond that Rihanna does strike it hard on the US singles chart, having her "Umbrella" enjoying a third week on top spot while on the other side winning the songbird worldwide critical acclaim.
"Umbrella", written by Terius Nash and rapper Jay-Z for Rihanna's third studio album "Good Girl Gone Bad", already the chart's greatest gainer at radio with the LP itself debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 by June 13th.

With three big records coming in the same week, people knew that it would be a tough competition in Billboard 200 chart. Paul McCartney's heavily promoted album "Memory Almost Full" moved 161,000 copies yet the album is placed at #3. Even Rihanna's "Good Girl Gone Bad" that was led by #1 single "Umbrella" only managed to get the second runner-up post with 162,000 sales. The ultimately anticipated album this week turns out to be that of T-Pain's "Epiphany".
On being told that his record reached 171,000 sales and scored #1 in the tally the rapper said, "It's special, man. I ain't never expect to be up there, so it was never a goal to me. I was happy with being 20. I was just happy to be on a chart."
Pitbull's New Album, Thicker in Rap

Cuban-American rapper Pitbull is set to release the fourth set of his studio album. Named "The Boatlift", the album that is due May 22 generates lots of his rapping persona compared to the previous three.
"It's a part two to El Mariel but more urban-based," he said. "There's more street records on there. I'm giving them another side to Pitbull. I had all the club records - you can easily go 45 minutes in the club just off my records. I just want to take these folks for a ride on this album based on what I know."
R. Kelly's Star Studded New Album

Within a short time, R. Kelly's new album "Double Up" will be out on May 29. It would be his thirteenth studio album and is pretty much star studded.
The first single released is "I'm a Flirt (Remix)" featuring T.I. and T-Pain. Many people are wondering why Bow Wow who has the same track in his album "The Price of Fame" (2006) is not featured in the video. It turns out that Bow Wow's version is a bonus track and its promotion to radios is prohibited. R. Kelly is actually the one who has the song's rights even though in billboard it is listed as 'Bow Wow or R. Kelly (featuring T.I. & T-Pain)'.

Don't be surprise upon noticing the Billboard Hot 100's artist of the week. Top the No. 1 position on the chart is still Daniel Powter's "Bad Day", marking the singer 2nd week in a row to be on the very top spot on the singles chart. At No. 2 also is still Sean Paul's "Temperature".
In the meantime, James Blunt's "You're Beautiful" goes up just one place from last week's position to No. 3, followed by T.I.'s "What You Know" which bounces as high as 35 position to be at No. 4. Mary J. Blige's "Be Without You" and Natasha Bedingfield's "Unwritten" are both still at the same position, No. 5 and 6 respectively.

While the US pop album chart is dominated by Prince, the US singles chart is topped by Canadian singer/songwriter Daniel Powter who with his "Bad Day" wins the top position, earns his first ever No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Thus, there's changes on the chart which subsequently drags Sean Paul's "Temperature" drops one place to No. 2.
