Stone Temple Pilots Cancel Florida's Concert
August 25, 2008 01:08:09Stone Temple Pilots have left their Florida fans disappointed after the band decided to pull off their gig at Tampa Bay's Ford Amphitheater. The band refused to show up in the scheduled concert on August 22 because they claimed that there would be storms striking the state on that day.
However, many of the 6,500 fans who packed into the venue, said that the storm which the band was afraid of, never came close to Tampa Bay. "The storms they were attempting to lay blame on were in North Florida and were not impacting Central Florida or South Florida where they had played in Hollywood, Florida two days prior," said one of the concert goers.
Scott Weiland and Eric Kretz Sued by Record Label
June 13, 2008 03:06:23Still preparing to record a comeback album, Stone Temple Pilots are being hit with a new problem as two of their members Scott Weiland and Eric Kretz are being sued by their label Atlantic Records. The record label claim that the two were very keen on trying to end their current contract with Atlantic before its due time.
On the lawsuit, filled in the U.S. District Court in Manhattan on June 12, Atlantic stated that both Scott and Eric have threatened the company that the band will stop performing and end their courtship with the company. Moreover, according to Atlantic, Pilots still have the obligation to release a seventh studio album and two more if the label wish to do so.
Stone Temple Pilots Reunite to Open for Led Zeppelin

Recently the band's bassist has revealed one the reasons in an interview with MTV, saying that they get together so they can open Led Zeppelin concert.
Confirming the news to MTV Robert DeLeo said, "Believe me, that was one of the reasons. We thought, 'We should get together now, in case Zeppelin does tour.' I'm serious, man. That would be one hell of a bill: STP and Led Zeppelin. I mean, we could play a doghouse, out in the middle of the ocean, and if I got to play with Zeppelin, that would be a highlight of my life." He also revealed that although the reunion looks to be impossible at first, the band members managed to settle down their differences and things went well in the end.
Kanye West Headlining Virgin Festival in Baltimore

Virgin founder and CEO Richard Branson announced that the rapper will be accompanied by Foo Fighters, Nine Inch Nails, Jack Johnson, and the reunited Stone Temple Pilots in the Baltimore leg.

Slash Hinting Guns N' Roses' Reunion

With reunions of band running up and down this year, Guns N' Roses intends to snatch its former members back from Velvet Revolver and Stone Temple Pilots. Slash, one of the 1980s members revealed that reunion is a possible matter.
Sick of playing Guns N' Roses' songs while he was in Velvet Revolver, Slash would like to eliminate them from his band's song list. He had also announced the removal of songs by Stone Temple Pilots. The only chance remaining for Slash to play Guns N' Roses' hits is by reuniting with his ex band mates.
