Staind's Latest LP Debuts on Billboard Hot 200 Chart
August 28, 2008 11:08:11Staind's sixth major studio album "Illusion of Progress" from Flip/Atlantic Records, makes its debut on Billboard 200 Chart with around 91,800 units on sale. The album which has just been released on August 19, rockets onto hot number three in the chart, just behind Jonas Brothers' "A Little Bit Longer", which scans another 146,700 copies, and Kid Rock's "Rock N Roll Jesus", which sits at number two with 100,900 sold.
The "Illusion of Progress" is a follow-up for the band's 2005 platinum-certified effort "Chapter V", which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 album chart in the second week after its release date. Their achievement has made the band to join an elite shortlist of five other modern rock artists who have also accomplished the same chart history, including U2, Dave Matthews Band, System of a Down, Van Halen, and Disturbed.
Seether Cancels August Tour Dates as Frontman Enters Rehab

South African rock band Seether has to, unfortunately, cancel their August tour dates following frontman Shaun Morgan's decision to check himself into a rehabilitation clinic for treatment of substance abuse.
Hence, Morgan's treatment has forced the band to cancel its August touring plans and following scheduled appearances this week, all future plans have been placed on hold until further notice.
Staind's "Chapter V" Opens at No. 1
August 18, 2005 11:08:34England rockers Staind have scored a great result in music industry as they surprisingly landed their third consecutive chart-topping album on the Billboard 200 with their latest release "Chapter V," which been sold 185,000 copies in the week ended August 14.
Last week's champ, Faith Hill's "Fireflies" dropped to No. 3 with 124,000 units, while "Now That's What I Call Music! 19" took the two spot with 160,000. Mariah Carey's "Emancipation of Mimi" which sold 103,000 copies was in the 4th spot, and Black Eyed Peas' "Monkey Business" jumped three spots to 5, selling 74,000 copies.

August 12, 2005 11:08:19Performing at Boston's City Hall Plaza on Tuesday as a part of their Fusion Flash Concert, Staind wowed about 10,000 fans. At the same time, their album entitled "Chapter V" was also released under Atlantic Records. Next, the rock band is about to perform in Concord with 3 Doors Down on August 16.
