2009 Q Awards has just been wrapped and added a trophy to her collection. She won Best Video, pushing aside , , and . She, however, was not present at the show, much to host Al Murray's dismay. "Remember Lady GaGa it's show business not show friends!" Al said.

Though grabbing Best Video, Lady GaGa was beaten in Breakthrough Artist category. She lost the title to Mr. Hudson. "Wow, thanks. sort of stole my speech," he said making a reference to the previously-announced winner. "I've never won anything before, thanks alot. I'm going to take this straight round to my mum's house and put it on the mantelpiece, thanks a lot."

Sonic Youth Coming to 'Gossip Girl' for Lily and Rufus

Confirmed by EW, the rock band's appearance will be featured in the 5th episode where the attention will be given to engaged couple Rufus and Lily. Creator Stephanie Savage won't detail the circumstances but it is presumed that the band may play in their wedding. "Just draw your own conclusions," she said with a laugh.

On how she stumbled upon the idea having Sonic to perform, Savage said that vocalist Thurston Moore did a cut cover of ' "Sheena is a Punk Rocker" with 's Jemina Pearl last year for Jenny's guerrilla fashion show scene. Sonic Youth's Frontman Penned Adult Movie Scores

One more member of has joined a film project. While his band mate Kim Gordon is making a transition to become an actress, guitarist Thurston Moore prefers to stay behind a film score.

Moore is lending his songwriting talent to an adult movie called 'Extra Action (And Extra Hardcore)' which DVD is due to be out in U.S. on March 18. Richard Kern who has directed many of Sonic Youth's music videos have sat as the director of the MVD movie which "documents 60 amateur women (unpretentious, unadorned and undressed) set to an original musical score by Thurston Moore."

Sonic Youth to Release "Celebrity" Compilation

For 2007 project, will release a compilation album that needs a little help from their celebrity friends. The alternative rock band will ask artists ranging from 's frontman Jeff Tweedy to Michelle Williams to pick their favorite songs from Youth's discography.

Guitarist Thurston Moore explained the concept. "We sort of devised this idea of a Sonic Youth record where we asked all these different people to choose their favorite song, people like artists and actors and other musicians and what have you. So all these people, from Jeff Tweedy to to Marc Jacobs to to , they all chose their favorite songs and wrote a little thing about it."

Masterworks Added to National Recording Registry

50 recordings by veteran artists, like , and , are being added to the National Recording Registry at the Library of Congress. Why those masterworks and not the others? It is all because the recordings are considered to be "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."

As of Wonder, he makes the list with his 1976 double album, "Songs in the Key of Life", while Hendrix's "Are You Experienced?", which was hailed as one of the "most groundbreaking guitar albums of the rock era, leads the newcomers. Sonic Youth Principals to Appear on Gilmore Girls

The principals of rock group , Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon plus their daughter Coco, will all make an appearance on the season finale of the WB drama "Gilmore Girls". There they reportedly will perform an acoustic version of the new song "What a Waste", which can be found on the band's next album "Rather Ripped," which will hit market June 13 via Geffen.

The show, taped Friday April 7, 2006 in Los Angeles, will be aired May 9 later this year. In related news, Moore also has been chosen to curate the Nightmare Before Christmas edition of the All Tomorrow's Parties festival, held December 8-10 later this year in Somerset, England. Set to perform at the event is and The Stooges, with full lineup will be announced in the coming months.

The music act has planned to return to the road June 23 in Pittsburgh with fourteen dates are set for the second leg through a July 22 show at the Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Wash.

The latter gig reportedly will be "an evening with" Pearl Jam and thus won't feature an opening act. However, fans will be treated with performance from who is slated to support on all but the first two second leg shows, which will boast a performance by former Guided By Voices frontman Robert Pollard.
