Serj Tankian Takes 'Elect the Dead' Down the Road
January 19, 2008 02:01:04Serj Tankian is set to take the road without his band System of a Down, in promotion of his solo debut album 'Elect the Dead'. The rocker will jump on a headlining tour in U.S. and join Foo Fighters for a number of dates before commencing with the solo leg.
The first date of his U.S. headlining tour is February 11 in Atlanta, G.A. He will perform in other four dates alone before supporting Foo Fighters whom he also toured with during 2007 U.K. jaunt, for 12 dates. His solo headlining dates are continued on March 8 in Francisco, C.A.

Alternative rock band Angels & Airwaves dominated the 2006 mtvU Woodie Awards, held Wednesday Oct 25th at New York's Roseland Ballroom. The band, formed by former Blink-182 star Tom DeLonge, claimed the event's top prize the Woodie of The Year (Artist of the Year) award.
Also won an honor during the award show, held to honor US college students' favorite emerging artists and music, was Plain White T's who brought home The Breaking Woodie (Best Emerging Artist) award, and Gnarls Barkley who nabbed the Left Field Woodie (Most Original Artist) award.
