July 02, 2009 04:07:51It turns out that a report run by New York Post's gossip column Page Six last week that Leighton Meester and Sebastian Stan were engaged is completely false. Celebuzz claims the engagement story actually was a rumor from six months ago that was recently brought back to life by gossip blogger Perez Hilton.
On June 26, Perez claimed the "Gossip Girl" co-stars and real life lovers announced their engagement on social networking site Facebook.com by changing their relationship status to "engaged". In fact, several sources have told Celebuzz that neither Leighton nor Sebastian has a Facebook account.

Per New York Post's gossip column Page Six's report, the celebrity pair announced their engagement on social networking site Facebook.com this week by changing their relationship status to "engaged".
Neither the actress nor the actor has addressed the engagement report. A representative for Leighton, in the meantime, refused to comment on the matter, which is assumed by Page Six as a gesture that adds fuel to the engagement talks.

New York gossip column PageSix previously reported the twosome were engaged and already made it public on their "secret" Facebook pages. They, moreover, were also claimed to have been planning to marry.
