Sarah Michelle Gellar was born in New York City, New York on April 14, 1977. She's been married to actor husband Freddie Prinze Jr. since September 1, 2002. The couple are parents to two children; daughter Charlotte Grace Prinze (b. 2009) and son Rocky James Prinze (b. 2012).

The beginning of Sarah's acting career happened when she was four years old and discovered by an agent while eating at a local restaurant. Soon thereafter she made her acting debut in the made-for-TV movie "An Invasion of Privacy" (1983) and had since appeared in many TV commercials and on the stage. After guest starring on "Spenser: For Hire" and "Crossbow", she then was cast as the leading role on teen drama series "Swans Crossing" and billed to portray Kendall Hart on "All My Children".

Sarah rose to prominence with her roles in films "I Know What You Did Last Summer", "Scream 2", and "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer". In fact, it was her portrayal of Buffy Summers on hit TV series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" that made her a household name in the business. It, moreover, won her six Teen Choice Awards, a Saturn Award for Best Genre TV Actress, and a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actress � Television Series Drama.

In between times shooting for "Buffy", Sarah also made time guest starring on several other TV features and acting in films, including "Cruel Intentions" (1999), "Scooby-Doo" (2002), "Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed" (2004), "The Grudge" (2004), and "The Grudge 2" (2006). Besides, she also lent her voice to several flicks, like "Small Soldiers", "Happily N'Ever After", and "TMNT".
