September 18, 2008 04:09:33The concluding band of celebrities to handout kudos at the 60th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards has been announced. Among the A-listers agreeing to join the festivities are "Grey's Anatomy" stars Patrick Dempsey and Sandra Oh, "Sex and the City" actress Cynthia Nixon, "30 Rock" lead man Alec Baldwin, and one of "Lipstick Jungle" principal cast Brooke Shields.
Other television thesps confirmed to present the winged-lady statuettes include Glenn Close, Craig Ferguson, Sally Field, Ricky Gervais, Martin Sheen, Kathryn Joosten and Glynn Turman. In addition, audience will be seeing the pairing-up appearances by comedians, Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart, and TV stars, Mary Tyler Moore and Betty White.
Hollywod Celebs Sign on to Lend a Helping Hand for Cancer Telethon
July 29, 2008 02:07:02Acting, singing, and hosting are not the only things many of Hollywood celebrities could do. In real life, they actually can do more, taking part in cancer telethon for example. Jennifer Aniston, Scarlett Johansson, and Charlize Theron are just some of the public figures who have agreed to lend a helping hand for the project.
They will be joined by fellow celebs, including American Idol champion David Cook, Christina Applegate, Meryl Streep, Sally Field, Lance Armstrong, Josh Brolin, Casey Affleck, and America Ferrera, all of whom have signed on to help work the phonebank during an upcoming benefit for Stand Up to Cancer, slated for September 5 later this year. The event will be simultaneously aired on ABC, CBS and NBC to raise money for cancer research and treatment.
'Grey's Anatomy' Wins Two Nods at 12th Annual Prism Awards
April 25, 2008 12:04:57This year Prism Awards, which is the 12th, was held Thursday night, April 24 at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The awards event, which was staged by the nonprofit Entertainment Industries Council in collaboration with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and the FX network, saw ABC's hit medical drama "Grey's Anatomy" winning the awards for Drama Episode and Performance in a Drama Series Episode for its star Ben Vereen.
Also nabbed two nods was ABC's another TV series "Brothers & Sisters" whose stars Dave Annable and Sally Field took away the Performance in a Drama Series Multi-Episode Story Line Awards. Fox's animated sitcom "The Simpsons" was the other award winner, thanks to its episode titled "Crook and Ladder" which won the Comedy Series Episode Award.

Bringing up a casting update on Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln", Newsweek has revealed that Sally Field is joining Liam Neeson to take starring part in the famed filmmaker's biographical take on the 16th U.S. president Abraham Lincoln.
Here the two-time Oscar winner will portray Lincoln's wife Mary Todd, whom he married on November 4, 1842 after a troubled engagement that was marked by at least one breakup. Meanwhile, Neeson has already been billed as the titular character.

The 59th annual Emmy Awards won't be held until September 16th later this year, but the nominees are in already. "The Sopranos", "Ugly Betty", and "Grey's Anatomy" are among the series dominating the award nominees list announced Thursday July 19th.
ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" is nominated for the Drama Series award, running for the category with the likes of "Boston Legal", "Heroes", "House", and "The Sopranos". The hit dramedy series "Ugly Betty" is vying for the category of Comedy Series with "Entourage", "The Office", "30 Rock", and "Two and a Half Men" as the competitors.
