June 30, 2008 09:06:48Ruben Studdard said "I Do." The American Idol season 2 winner married his fiancee Surata Zuri McCants at Canterbury United Methodist Church in his hometown of Birmingham, Ala., Saturday, June 28.
Ruben, as it's been reported earlier, had 20 groomsmen by his side. He and his groomsmen wore black Joseph Abboud tuxedos from local outfitter Mr. Burch Formal Wear. The groomsmen's shirts and vests were black, whereas Studdard had a white vest and a white bow tie.

The American Idol alum, as his representative has confirmed, is getting married this weekend in his hometown of Birmingham, Alabama.
An unidentified source confirmed Ruben will marry McCants on Saturday, June 28 at Canterbury United Methodist Church in the tony Mountainbrook neighborhood of Birmingham, Ala. Word on the block is that he will have at least 20 groomsmen at his side.

Studdard, 29, and his fiancee Surata Zuri McCants, 30, arrived at the Shelby County Probate Office in Birmingham just before noon. The pair filled out the paperwork and walked away with their license, a source informed People.

Although details and comments from both camps have not yet been released, TMZ.com who was the first to report, have acquired the legal document. It was filed in New York Supreme Court on Monday January 28.

The rapper scores his No. 1 album since 1997 when his latest effort "Press Play" takes the No. 1 U.S. album spot on The Billboard 200 for the week ended Sunday Oct 22nd, selling over 170,000 copies. "Press Play", which is Diddy's first studio album since 2001's platinum-selling "The Saga Continues", also tops Billboard magazine's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
At 2nd position on the album chart is Evanescence's "The Open Door" with 112,000, while JoJo enters the chart with her sophomore set "The High Road" at No. 3, sold 108,000 copies. Former chart-topper, Justin Timberlake's "FutureSex/LoveSounds" secures the 4th spot with another 99,000, ahead of Dierks Bentley's "Long Trip Alone" at No. 5 selling 82,000 copies, and Rod Stewart's "Still the Same...Great Rock Classics of Our Time" at No. 6 sold another 79,000 copies in its second week out.

After such a long absence from music industry, Ruben Studdard is back. The winner of the second season of The American Idol is reported to release his long awaited sophomore R&B/soul album, "The Return of the Velvet Teddy Bear ," on September 26 later this year via J Records.
The lead single of the new album, titled "Change Me" is produced by The Underdogs and goes to urban adult and urban mainstream radio July 31st. As of the album itself "The Return", which is the follow-up to his debut album "Soulful" released in 2003, includes additional production by Scott Storch, Ne-Yo, Brian-Michael Cox, Harold Lilly, Dre & Vidal and others.

American Idol" winner Ruben Studdard reaps another victory as he's been awarded $2 million in his lawsuit against the ex-manager, Ronald W. Edwards, and Edwards's promotions company, Sez Inc. he claimed misappropriated more than $246,000 from him.
Jefferson County (Ala.) Circuit Judge Scott Vowell has on Thursday June 15, 2006 awarded the 2003 American Idol winner $500,000 for his actual losses and another $1.5 million in punitive damages in his suit, filed last year. According to the ruling, Edwards raided Ruben's checking and other bank accounts, improperly used his credit cards and even spent his money to repay a $10,000 bank loan.
Idol Studdard Sues Ex-Manager
June 30, 2005 10:06:14Second-season American Idol winner Ruben Studdard filed complaint Monday, accusing his ex-manager Ronald W. Edwards who is also his god-father, of identity theft and forgery. In the complaint Studdard claims Edwards has, between August 1, 2003, and November 30, 2004, faked paperwork giving himself power of attorney over him.
Further the complaint mentions Edwards to have used Studdard's credit cards to take $105,000, written checks for $150,000, and deposited the stolen $22,000 of Studdard's to his deposit. For his part, Edwards totally denies all allegations and claims Studdard actually owes him money and so he filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy June 17. Aside from the legal dispute, Studdard will next perform at the Memorial Hall in Plymouth, Massachusetts, on August 6.
Studdard Sued by Former Manager

Edward's lawsuit filed on Friday is said to be a counterclaim to Studdard's lawsuit filed in February claiming Edwards and his Birmingham marketing and advertising firm, Sez Inc., misused $246,000 in the year that he worked for him. Furthermore, the suit also accuses Edwards for making unauthorized expenses after he was fired.
Edward, on the other hand, denies all those reports, saying through his attorney Glennon Threatt that he and Studdard are longtime family friends and that he had agreed to help Studdard for free before he won American Idol in May 2003.
