First Photo of Roger Federer's Twins Made Public
August 08, 2009 09:08:08Three weeks after Charlene Riva and Myla Rose came to the world, Roger Federer shares how his beloved twin daughters look like through their first public photo. The picture, which captures the tennis champion and his wife Miroslava Vavrinec aka Mirka cradling each of the girls, was made public on his Facebook account on Friday, August 7.
Accompanying the snap was Federer's account on who took the picture and how the shot was done. "As promised, here is a family picture that my dad took," he wrote. "He thinks he's becoming a professional photographer. It was very funny as both girls had the hiccups while we were trying to take a decent picture. The girls and mom are doing great. Thanks for all your warm wishes."
Roger Federer's Wife Gives Birth to Twin Girls

In a post on his site dated Friday, July 24, the professional tennis player wrote, "Roger Federer and his wife Mirka, proudly announce the birth of twin daughters, Charlene Riva and Myla Rose, who were born Thursday night, July 23rd in Switzerland."
The post furthermore confirmed, "This is the greatest day of our lives. Mirka, Myla and Charlene are all healthy and doing very well." Though so, no other details have been made public about the newborn twins. They are Roger and Miroslava's first children.

"Earlier today, in my hometown of Basel, surrounded by a small group of close friends and family, Mirka and I got married," he wrote on the post dated Saturday, April 11.
"It was a beautiful spring day and an incredibly joyous occasion," Federer continued writing. "Mr. and Mrs. Roger Federer wish all of you a Happy Easter weekend."

"Mirka and I are excited to let you know that we will be parents this summer! Mirka is pregnant and we are so happy to be starting a family together," so read the professional tennis player's post. "This is a dream come true for us. We love children and we are looking forward to being parents for the first time. Mirka is feeling great and everything is going well." At the end of his post, Federer wrote, "Speak soon and thanks for all your continued support!" The due date and sex of their upcoming baby are not disclosed though.
Winners of the 2008 Annual ESPY Awards

This year annual ESPY, stands for Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly, Awards took place at Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles and was hosted by pop singer and actor Justin Timberlake. The 16th annual event will be televised Sunday, July 20 at 9 P.M. ET on ESPN, but here's a peek of the winners.
Professional golfer Tiger Woods was quite a big winner at the event, winning his fifth Best Male Athlete ESPY. He, additionally, also won two other awards, namely his fourth straight Best Golfer award and the Best Championship Performance award for winning the U.S. Open.

Roger Federer is still the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year. The world's top-ranked tennis player won his third straight Laureus Sportsman of the Year Award Monday April 2nd, making him the first ever recipient of three Laureus World Sports Awards.
Federer is believed as the world's top-ranked tennis player. He won three Grand Slams last year and added the Australian Open in January for his 10th career major championship. Winning the opposite award, the Sportswoman of the Year, is Russian pole vaulter Yelena Isinbayeva.
