Regina Spektor Collapsed Shortly Before Performing
November 16, 2007 04:11:05Just when she was about to serve her gig in Nashville, Regina Spektor collapsed and was rushed to hospital. The folk singer was forced to cancel the gig, that was held on Wednesday, November 14, at the last minute, refunding the tickets to disappointed fans.
A statement released by Spektor's rep explained her sudden health scare. June 25, 2007 10:06:19
Just like a tradition, now that Regina Spektor has accumulated enough fame through "Begin to Hope" (2006), people start questioning about her next album. The Russian singer won't tell much and insists that everything's still in "tiny little things".
Regina as usual has written numerous pieces that she's not sure of making a record yet. Explaining the reason she said, "Because I have so much stuff that I've written, I always use some things from before and some things that I've just written and some new things that maybe nobody's heard. But I never really write for a record, so I have no idea exactly what it's going to be. It sort of just comes together into a little piece."

May 01, 2007 11:05:48
The Shortlist Music Prize has downsized the nominated albums up to mere ten. The 2006 albums that stands the chance are coming from Cat Power, Band of Horses, Beirut, Bonnie Prince Billy, Girl Talk, Hot Chip, Joanna Newsom, Regina Spektor, Spank Rock and Tom Waits.
These finalists are the ones thought to be potentially 'creative and adventurous' this year. They are selected after a hefty list of 60 others such as Franz Ferdinand, KT Tunstall, Panic! At the Disco, 2005's winner Sufjan Stevens and many others. Co-founder Greg Spotts said, "This is the year of the storyteller. More than half of our ten finalists are wordsmiths who create unique characters and narratives, interpreting our complex world in new ways."
