RBD to Celebrate Breakup With Farewell Album
August 19, 2008 01:08:51Mexican teen group RBD are heading up to studio for their last album before officially breaking up. The not-yet-titled album is scheduled for release in early 2009. "Later they'll record a new album that's slated for an early 2009 release," says their producer, Pedro Damian.
In addition, this year the group are also on the work of compiling their fifteen most popular songs in an album, tentatively called "Greatest Hits of RBD". In a statement, Pedro says, "A new disc, called Greatest Hits of RBD, will be released this year with 15 of their most popular songs."
RBD Announce Split, to Perform Solo
August 16, 2008 02:08:54After four years singing songs together in front of millions of people, Mexican pop group RBD announce that they will split up in a written statement, which is signed by their five members, Alfonso, Any, Christian, Christopher, Dulce Maria y Maite. As posted on their official website, the group wrote to all of their fans, "You, our fans, also left an unforgettable mark in our lives, and will never forget you, and keep you always close to our hearts."
This has then made some speculations, saying that the group's members are eying for solo careers. The rumor goes deeper with their statement, saying, "Every big Project needs to make changes in order to move on, and today we are initiating that process."

Mexican pop group RBD led the number of winning in 2007 Billboard Latin Music Awards with 3 counts. They took home most of the top nominations such as Tour of the Year, Latin Pop Album of the Year for "Celestial" and also Top Latin Album Artist of the Year.
Shakira who appeared this year with her best hit "Hips Don't Lie" featuring Wyclef Jean was named Hot Latin Song of the Year, Vocal Duet after defeating Ricky Martin's duet with La Mari and other two contenders. Hot Latin Song Artist of the Year went to Puerto Rican reggaeton duo Wisin & Yandel that beat other strong reggaeton Daddy Yankee.

Colombian pop music star Shakira was the top winner at this year Billboard Latin Music Awards held Thursday April 27th, 2006. The beauty led the night event with five trophies all at once, four of which were Hot Latin Song Of The Year; Hot Latin Song Of The Year, Vocal Duet; Latin Pop Airplay Song Of The Year, Duo or Group; and Latin Ringtone Of The Year for "La Tortura" which she shared with Alejandro Sanz, while the other one was for Latin Pop Album Of The Year, Female thanks "Fijacion Oral Vol. 1".
Among some other winners was Juanes who brought home the Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year, Latin Pop Airplay Song Of The Year, Male for "La Camisa Negra", and Songwriter Of The Year award, Reyli who won the category of Latin Pop Album of the Year, Male for "En La Luna", and RBD who nabbed two awards of Latin Pop Album Of The Year, Duo or Group and Latin Pop Album Of The Year, New Artist both for "Rebelde". Besides them all there were also Daddy Yankee, La Secta Allstar, Andy Andy, and many others.

February 17, 2006 01:02:18While the 2006 Billboard Latin Music Awards is about to be held April 27 later this year, finalists top the list of the award show have been announced. Leading the nominees is Puerto Rican reggaeton sensation Daddy Yankee who grabs 10 nominations, including that of Artist Of The Year, Hot Latin Songs Artist and Songwriter Of The Year.
Following close behind with nine nominations is Mexico's pop group RBD, which is soon followed by Shakira with eight nominations. After all there is Juanes and Puerto Rican artist Olga Tanon with five nominations each. The awards will be handed out in Miami and be broadcast live on Telemundo.
