Black Carpet Marks Star-Studded L.A. Premiere of 'Star Trek'
May 01, 2009 03:05:28Proving that "Star Trek" is one of the highly anticipated summer movies this year, the Los Angeles premiere for the sci-fi film has been flooded with many Hollywood stars. Big screen actors, small screen stars and TV personalities were all spotted walking down the black carpet that was rolled down in front of Grauman's Chinese Theater on Thursday, April 30.
Unlike its world premiere in Sydney that was attended by several of its cast members, this Los Angeles screening saw many of the film's stars. Chris Pine, Eric Bana, Zachary Quinto, Leonard Nimoy, Zoe Saldana, Anton Yelchin, Ben Cross, Bruce Greenwood, John Cho, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg and Winona Ryder were only a handful of the cast ensemble seen attending the premiere.
Three Added to G.I. Joe Cast Lineup
December 21, 2007 04:12:04More are coming to enlarge the "G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra" brigade. The Hollywood Reporter has brought up casting info stating Rachel Nichols, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and Said Taghmaoui have all joined the movie's lineup alongside previously-announced Sienna Miller and Ray Park.
Nichols, fresh from her role in "P2", is reported to play a skilled martial artist named Scarlett who specializes in hand-to-hand combat and counterintelligence. Akinnuoye-Agbaje, known as Mr. Eko in ABC's hit series "Lost", will portray ordnance expert Heavy Duty with Taghmaoui billed as Breaker, the team's communications specialist.
Star Trek Gets Winona Ryder and Rachel Nichols on Board
November 10, 2007 10:11:56Though the entire bridge of the USS Enterprise has already been completed, there's still bit addition made into the cast apparently. Recent reports confirmed that Oscar nominee Winona Ryder and "P2" star Rachel Nichols are both poised to take part in "Star Trek", which "Lost" creator J.J. Abrams is set to direct.
Ryder is claimed by Variety to play the mother of Spock, Amanda Grayson, who is also the first human wife of Sarek. Grayson, as described by StarTrek.com, was "a schoolteacher from Earth who married the Vulcan diplomat Sarek and gave birth to Spock in 2230" and "reunited with her son when she accompanied her husband aboard the Enterprise during the Babel Conference in 2267."
Bentley and Nichols to Topline "P2"
July 20, 2006 03:07:11"P2" is a new film of thriller genre which will be produced by Alexandre Aja and Gregory Levasseur, the creative team behind "High Tension" and "The Hills Have Eyes."
Aja and Levasseur both co-wrote the script alongside Franck Khalfoun, who is about to make his directorial debut through this flick. Have been billed to star in are Wes Bentley, who is about to play the corporate climber, and Rachel Nichols as the unhinged security guard.
