Video Premiere: Bun B's 'That's Gangsta' Ft. Sean Kingston
April 22, 2008 02:04:58Rapper Bun B has just premiered his new music video for his single titled "That's Gangsta" on April 21, 2008. The video which was directed by Mr. Boomtown, also features reggae singer Sean Kingston who also worked with him on the single.
The single itself was the first single from his upcoming second solo album "II Trill". So far, "That's Gangsta" managed to peak at #92 on Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
Rapper Pimp C Died of an Accidental Overdose
February 05, 2008 11:02:03It's been two months since Pimp C was found dead in a hotel room and the authorities ruled Monday, February 4 that the rapper died of an accidental overdose of a combination of cough syrup and other factors.
The Los Angeles County coroner ruled that day that Pimp C's death was caused by prescription cough syrup and a preexisting sleeping condition. The rap star, who's better known as one-half of the hip hop duo UGK, died accidentally because of a combination of drugs, codeine and promethazine, which he previously name-checked in his lyrics.
Pimp C's Last Project With Three 6 Mafia Leaked
December 17, 2007 03:12:25Pimp C left an unfinished business when he suddenly passed away on December 4 this year, at the age of mere 33. His last project before the unfortunate event was a collaborative song with Three 6 Mafia called 'On Sum Chrome'.
The roughly four-minutes long song has been leaked on-line, although there is still no confirmation whether it was the final version. The week before his death, the rapper told his mom, Weslyn Monroe, that he was excited on the project because he believed that 'crunk' music was invented by the Three 6 Mafia whom he looked up to.
Thousands of Families and Friends Attended Pimp C's Funeral
December 14, 2007 10:12:39Bun B, Chamillionaire, Mike Jones, Trae and Willie D of the Geto Boys were among thousands of families and friends saying farewell to Pimp C in a funeral held Thursday, December 13 at the Robert A. Bowers Civic Center in the rapper's southeast Texas hometown of Port Arthur.
As the funeral service was about to begin, instrumentals of the music that made Pimp C famous were played over the sound system and when the music stopped playing the Rev. John R. Adolph began a prayer. The religious ceremony also included the reading of a resolution by the mayor of Port Arthur and remembrances by Jeff Sledge of Jive Records and Pimp C's mother, Weslyn Monroe who said her only son was in heaven.
Funeral for Pimp C Set for Next Week in His Hometown of Port Arthur, Texas

Pimp C's management confirmed that funeral arrangements are currently being made to hold the funeral on Thursday, December 13 with a formal announcement to be issued Monday, December 10 confirming the exact location.
Rapper Pimp C Found Dead in an Upscale Hotel on Sunset Strip

L.A. County Fire Department paramedics responded to a 911 call at about 9:30 a.m. placed from the Mondrian Hotel on Sunset Boulevard where they later on found the rapper dead on bed, fully clothed, at his sixth floor hotel room.

Now it's time for us to have a look at the US album chart. There on the very top position on the chart is the 22nd installment of "Now That's What I Call Music," tentatively titled "Now That's What I Call Music! Vol. 22", which sold about 398,000 copies. That amount, in fact, marks the biggest first-week sales since the Dixie Chicks' "Taking the Long Way", which has been sold more than 500,000 back in May.
What's more it's also more than four times as many copies as Johnny Cash's "American V: A Hundred Highways". Then comes at 2nd position on the chart is Thom Yorke's "The Eraser", moving 90,000 copies. Elsewhere on the top 200, Pimp C debuts at No. 3 with his "Pimpalation" sold 87,000 copies, ahead of Nelly Furtado's "Loose" at No. 4.
